Recently started playing Irelia, Any advice when playing her?

Playing top in general is something I've just started to do, And Irelia is only the second champion who i feel at least somewhat comfortable playing at that lane, The first being Mordekaiser, and i already know the two have pretty different play styles. So far I only have 6 games as Irelia under my belt and this is how I've done:

  1. 0/0/1 Into a Nasus (Knew how to stack correctly, and knew how to keep me off him) - Lost
  2. 3/6/4 Into a Riven, and proceeded to get smashed as Riven also knew what she was doing and could play very aggressively. - Lost
  3. 5/4/13 Into a Nasus (Went AP, and stacked well, not as good as the first guy though) - Lost, Again.
  4. 13/3/16 Into ANOTHER Nasus (This one couldn't stack very well, and this one ended up going 3/14/9) - Won
  5. 25/2/8 Into a Ryze (Ryze won lane up until i hit level 4. After that he stood no chance in lane, though later was the only person on their team that could stop me) - Won
  6. 10/6/6 Into an Irelia (Thornmail was the other Irelia's first big item, but i was camped by a jungle ekko so again, couldn't do much in lane) - Lost

So what i'd like to know is how to lane better so i can have a repeat of games 4 and 5 more often. Such as how I'm supposed to play into champions like Riven (Aggressive as hell ones), and also how I'm supposed to stop a Nasus without getting withered and having his polearm rammed up my ass, since I still am not entirely sure how to do so on a melee champion with little range, and otherwise any advice to help when playing this champion.

Thanks!

Rush tri force then you're god.

The end.

9/10 matchups on Irelia are pretty much "you are weaker until level 9, but once you hit level 9, you are a god"

Yeah specifically against riven, Id go cloth +5, rush ninja tabi and let her push the lane. You farm under tower well. Then get your triforce. I like to Max E first in lane especially against a counter. Longer stun/ better mixed dmg. Then once you get Tri force spike, you can prob all in a riven. around lvl 9
