Title. Under no circumstance having trouble here, but I've been seeing it a lot more in high elo streams and I'm curious which champs it is just a bad idea to do that against compared to others.
One example is if their ADC and support start top instead of normal.
EDIT: Another idea is if you want to solo bot.

I would guess any ranged top laner could do somewhat well.
Ranged top laners/ones with a ranged last-hitting ability (harder to zone), and support-type top laners (less reliance on gold). So, Lulu, for one.

Farm under your turret with vlad. Kill them if they dive you.
anything with ranged clear.
Singed. Mundo.
Rengar, Renekton, Jayce, Olaf (max Q, start flash), Shyvana, Shen, Malphite are some that come to mind.
If you're sub level 30 (hence lots of duo tops), Rengar can pretty easily 1v2 if you play it right and start red pot or long sword. Scrubs don't expect the burst and don't know to stay away from the bushes.
Quinn.
She's a beast 1v2. Her Q is great poke and good for last hitting from distance.
It can also blind one or both champs to let you win some trades.
Plus she has E for disengaging if she gets in a sticky situation. Not to mention you will out level them and they will quickly regret having 2 top.
I will gladly take a 1v2 situation since you will be leveling twice as fast as both of them... It also means bot lane is free to farm, so you are looking at TWO strong ADCs in mid/late game.
It's a bit harder if they have someone who can heavily zone you out in top lane. (thresh/blitz/morg/leona mostly)
Perhaps. I feel Riven might do well. She just needs that lvl 3 double kill to snowball. If the duo is CC heavy though, no way.
My goal in 2v1 is not to kill but to hold, especially when the enemy is a double ranged champion. Therefore I think the following are strong.
Morgana: Can hold lanes with her amazing push and people do not want to dive her (to kill) Malzahar: Can push back easily from very far Caitlyn: Can 2v1 an ad/support lane that has shorter range
I feel Gnar would do extremely well.
Heimerdinger is fantastic in 1v2s, because he can farm from range and his turrets make him incredibly risky to dive, especially early on. With teleport, it's insanely hard to deny him experience, especially if the enemy team isn't able to execute a freeze (it's surprising how many people have difficulty with that). Lulu works well for similar reasons.
Shen is also relatively good. Manaless sutain plus a taunt that makes him very difficult to dive makes it quite a challenge to deny him, and he offers tons of utility even without items.
