Bronze ADC Tips

Hello- I can play all roles, but my strongest is probably ADC, and I find myself playing it in many of my ranked games (in the bronze league of course, because I'm not very good). Often times I find myself raging at my support for things such as not warding, not trading, bad engages, etc. However, a revelation occurred to me that if I really do not belong in bronze, then in theory I should be able to dominate my lane with a support who is afk, feeding, what have you. I was wondering some tips for doing this, especially in bronze. I main Vayne, but have experience with many other ADCs.

tl;dr: How can I improve my adc mechanics to the point that I can win lane with a support who is not the best?

CS!!!! CS is your best friend! Play custom game and just practice how much you can get. You should be able to do 80 by 10 mins easily, if you can do that, you have the level and gold to improve your lane exponentially. Also Vayne is squishy, so play more passive early on until you have the spells and items you need to really kick some ass.

Tumble invisibly into enemy team, you must not. Worth the world, 3 silver rings aren't. Ruining over a game, your character isn't worth.

If the support is obviously not doing well tell them to let you play passive and just farm up. Most people in bronze don't have good cs mechanics and if you can get a good cs lead it is worth more than a kill. I'd also recommend staying off of vayne until you get to a higher elo where you can count on your support. Vayne can get bullied so hard in lane and it takes work for both you and your support both to get her to her late game fantasy. I'd play champs like Caitlyn, Jinx, or Draven where you can easily farm and destroy the enemy laners early even without much interaction from your supp. Caitlyn and Jinx can also clear waves pretty well and Draven is a nightmare late game if ahead.

Also learn how to manipulate where the minion wave is, you want it to be closer to your tower at all times without them getting hit by it. This opens up more opportunities for jungle ganks and also keeps you safer even without wards. If the enemy laners leave lane for any reason (and you know they actually left) push that all the way to tower. Deny them as much farm and xp as possible.

Looking at your profile I see you average a little over 5 cs per minute. 12 minions spawn every minute starting at 1:30 with an extra cannon every few waves. There is no reason you should be getting less than 8 cs per minute on average (it might drop to 7 per minute if getting really bullied but you should avoid that at all costs). You are the adc you need that farm :P

Well, even if the support IS warding it never hurts to have an extra person ward. I know you're an adc and every gold can make the difference but so can placing a 100g pink ward save your or your teammate's life by keeping a gank at bay (That's a 200 gold denied that the enemy might have gotten). Place them in bushes junglers walk around but don't check (A lot of junglers at low elos don't bother checking bushes for wards).

You probably already know this but I'm just going to write these in case you or someone else doesn't:

  1. Never get too far away from your melee minions. Really, if you're wide open the enemies will have a much easier time landing skill shots on you. Also don't stray too far from your support. A 2v2 is better than your enemies going 2v1 on you. If your support is roaming or back at base, stay close to your turret or don't stray too much into enemy territory if you don't have wards.

  2. Always keep tabs in cooldowns (skills and summoner spells) and on your enemies mana bars. Knowing when your opponent will be able to flash to safety or not can be the difference between getting the kill or getting dissapointed. Same goes for when an enemy support might have ignite to secure a kill on you or exhaust to make a duel or escape harder. If you and you're support have more mana than your lane opponents, that's a better chance to get ahead since you have more in your arsenal than they do.

  3. While getting map pressure and objectives is important, sometimes getting a tower in your lane very early on could prove to be bad for you. That's because you'll have to go deeper into enemy territory to farm and their jungler (or a roaming mid) will have more room to gank and chase you. You should also note that when you get kills on the laners and destroy their tower going to roam mid to push that lane can be helpful. (Also a good time to set up wards)

  4. Lastly, there's csing as some guys have already mentioned here. And if you feel your cs is a bit lacking, custom games are you best friend to improve on it. Here's what I do: I set up a custom game with the champion I want to cs with by myself. No bots or anything. Just me. I only focus on getting the last hit on minions. I don't damage turrets or go for jungle mobs. After 20 minutes, I write down the amount of creeps I got and leave the game. If you can get 150 minions or more by 20 minutes, you're doing a great job. I repeat the process until I am comfortable and then add intermediate bots if I want an extra challenge.

Anyway, that's about all I can say! I'm not a good player or anything nor am I that experienced so there's probably a lot more to learn. I know this was a very long post so I appreciate you taking the time to read it and hope it helped! And feel free to add me in game. I'm always glad to have more positive members I can play with! summoner 31

ADC in bronze is easy. You only really have 2 goals.

1: Last-hit well to get as much CS as humanly possibly.

2: Don't die, or at the least... die as few times as possible.

Thank you all so much! I guess the general consensus is in B4 1) Don't play vayne unless I'm with my duo and 2) improve my mechanics- especially CS and map awareness. Thank you so much, you gave me more inspiration to make it out of bronze this season!

someone like vayne is much harder to play and win with than cait or another early adc when support is either bad or gone. if you do play vayne in a 1v2 lane, live and farm it out in the start, unless other team makes a really big mistake.

add gamerguy13 in game i can help you a lot with playing vayne and im on 85% of the day some things to know are dont pick vayne into cait. Unless you become gosu level at vayne there is no point and also CS and learn how to positition where you can attack carries without their tanks noticing like fighting between the 2 mid towers when theyre gone so you can hide over walls by chickens and wolves
