I was wondering if Yorick was ap or ad ?

AD Tank pretty much. You only have one AP ratio, your ghouls' damage is based on your AD, and your sustain is as well.

If it helps, I typically build something like the following when playing Yorick: item 3047 item 3111 item 3004 item 3025 item 3065 item 3143 item 3075

Alternatively, you could take a more offensive mid-game build like the following: item 3047 item 3111 item 3004 item 3078 item 3110 item 3065 item 3143

Skill Order: EQEWER, R>E>Q>W Starting Items: Crystalline Flask, 1 or 2 Health Potions, 2 Mana Potions

I feel like he can't compete with the straight tanks right now :( maybe im wrong

He actually does really well in the current meta because if his team has a hyper carry (like a Jinx or Kog'maw) that shreds tanks anyway, he can ult them and give your team 2 of them, as well as giving your carry a second life. In lane, he bullies enemies hard, and most tanks are weak early and strong late, making Yorick ideal for shutting them down early.

Yeah his laning phase might be the best of any top laner I am surprised he isn't picked more solely cause of that. Maybe if they would have him on freeweek :(

Yorick's E and Q scale with AD and his ghoul's do physical damage. However, his E does magic damage when it's cast and so does his W which happens to scale with AP.

The only viable way to really tap into his magic damage is to build item 3020 if you don't need other boots (you can also take hybrid penetration runes). Especially since in lane you're spamming those 2 abilities to harass.

Have you ever laned vs him? It is more oppressive then pantheon not to mention his ult never falls off.

lol i have, about 5 times in unranked, the thing is actually, in unranked I've never lost top lane's laning phase before, not even against yorick, riven, heimerdinger, nasus, darius ....... the rest of damge dealers and lane bullies there are i also only play Vladimir top KAPPA Rito plz
