Should I finish my promo series?

Alright I was curious about ranked when hitting 30 about a month ago, and I recently played one solo queue promo game with Lissandra, which I lost and went 4/7/1. I honestly barely know anything about promos and ranked as a whole and wondering, should I continue even to get in bronze?

I say yes to at least finishing the ten promos, just to see where you place for curiosity's sake if nothing else.

Or you can play more normals until you are a little more confident with your play. It's whatever you feel more comfortable with. I jumped straight into ranked and I'm trying to climb out of Bronze. I probably would do the same if I had to do it again.

If you have a go to champion that you play all the time I would say finish. If you don't I would say figure out that champion and maybe one or two more then go back in. I'm not saying just learn a champions abilities, learn them well enough to where bad matchups don't scare you, then go back in.

If you don't know anything about ranked, I would probably not play for a bit.

Play normals and practice 2-3 champs (preferably ones that aren't picked/banned every game) for each role, including support. Practice your support ones first because support is probably the only role you will be FORCED to play. Last pick? Support. Even as last pick, you are pretty safe with a comment like, "top is my worst role". People will usually accommodate for you. If you say something like, "i suck support" or "anything but support", well to bad you will be supporting anyway. Anyway, once you are really confident with things like CS and teamfighting on 2-3 champs per role, then you should be in a good place to start ranked. You will probably start in bronze, but that is OK! It will be hell trying to climb out, but once you finally do, you will be happy. Just understand going in....there are many people that troll in ranked. Why? Idk. Probably because they get picked on in school and rito doesn't actually punish anything except "omg rito he said bad word". So be prepared to lose a lot of ranked games because of afks and people playing a champ they have never ever ever (taylor swift voice) played before. Good luck!

just go ahead and do it. bronze isnt nearly as bad as people usually describe it to be, and no matter the elo youll learn incredibly much faster in rankeds than in normals
