I have been playing lee sin jungle for a little and when watching videos online it seem like some people can just zip their wards out so they can safeguard to them I have tried the smart cast on abilities is there a way to smart cast with items like wards and sightstones thanks for the help

Not sure about that, just press escape and go into the hotkeys menu. press the little lightning bolt under whatever you want to be smarcast
The ward has a longer range. So switch to quick cast all and hold down your Safeguard so you can see the cast range then quick cast a ward and Safeguard.
