What is Wrong With Silver?

Ok excuse me guys this is my first post on the forums and I felt like I had to post this because I'm serious tilt and need to get off of the game right now. I'm going to start ranting now...

What is wrong with silver?! The past week, every game I have lost is due to throws. No matter how hard I win in lane, my team always gets extremely cocky and starts trying to 1v5 and eventually they end up ahead. This exact thing happened to my last game, where I was 4/1 vayne in lane after getting a triple kill in an enemy gank. No matter how persistent I am at shotcalling, my team just lumbers around like a bunch of idiots. We could've won that game if we just simply grouped mid and pushed. No. They insisted on getting baron. We got aced. I tell them to back out after getting the inhibitor, yet they dive in 4v5. Due to these ignorant people, I lose games where our team is ahead at first.

I know. If I was truly a god, I would be solo carrying my way out of silver. But the truth is, I'm not. I'm better than my team, but not good enough to solo carry. This is my dilemma. Even though my MMR is higher than my teammates, even though I only lose 15 LP per loss and gain 25 per win (further proving that I have rather high MMR compared to the average silver)... I still can't get out of silver. Now I ask you guys to give me tips to getting out of silver, and hopefully others struggling in this league will see this too.

On a side note, all of these games I've lost is when I'm not duoing. I've decided to reach out to the community and ask for a new duo partner in high silver to high gold. Thank you. I'm an mid/adc main by the way. ~CasperSnail

I checked and your MMR is actually slightly below average for the division. Your MMR doesn't matter unless its either too low or its so high that you gain over 30 for wins and less than 10 for losses. Then you will rise multiple divisions. Don't duoq. If you duo with a gold, your other teammates will still be silver and they will be against people better than them, therefore losing lane. Solo is the way to go until you get into diamond and everyone is the same level basically no matter what. Sometimes in soloq you have to be very on point. Amazing farm, very good placement, good warding, good shot calling. Just keep playing. You'll get out. Work on your champion pool, mechanics, map knowledge, player knowledge etc.

because the players are not good so they dont know how to end games? so you have to be better and end the games.

That's silver. there are still 5 more tiers above you. Like, if we were to convert divisions into numbers, you are at tier 2 out of 7. That's not high in any respect. That's what silver is. If you're really worth your weight in gold, then your overall progression will reflect that. The biggest thing you have to come to terms with is that you belong in whatever tier you're in. Once you realize that and if you're capable of self-evaluation, than you'll climb out. Just keep trying to improve yourself and don't worry about the rest of your team in the grand scheme of the ladder.

Silver is the Game of Throws. Just gotta hope you are on the right side of history.

I'm right there with you buddy. I recently had a game where I went 25/5 on caitlyn and the rest of the team had done decently. We were pushing in with a numbers advantage on their nexus. I of course start attacking those nexus turrets thinking "oh there's 15 sec on respawn timers let's end", rest of my team runs right past the turret and proceeds to try and kill the rest of their team near the fountain. The minion wave dies out and I can't tank the turret so I turn to help my team as I wait...we get aced and proceed to lose. Our jungler with 3000 health was right there, but instead was too busy getting rekt.

All that aside, keep trying to shotcall and when worst comes to worst it's probably better to back up your team on a questionable call than leave them to die. It's silver, the other team might not respond correctly and you win anyways.

Good luck to both of us

I'm always shocked at how many people don't know that towers/inhibs/super minions are the most important things. Throws imply (to me) that these people think kills matter most and spend everything to get them.

Warren Buffet has a rule - don't lose money. Sounds obvious, and therefore stupid. But most people lose money making stupid decisions they know to be risky moving into it. Same with most of LoL. Rarely do I see people take an objective and leave.

Silver is driving me mad. Omg I'm on a recent loss streak where people are just freakishly diving for completely unneccassary kills and losing the game. I finally got a good win this morning but had to turn slightly toxic and shame people into being objective focused. The ol' "good job chasing. It was important and really helped." I hate being that guy

Not to mention people all want to play carry, then they literally are incapable of doing jack after laning is over. It feels like the skill disparity in low silver is so hopeless that it's a lot of luck in champ select to win.

Another thing, wtf is with people not playing there best champs??? Do people not lose enough in this game that they still think there shit don't stink? It's silver, we're average shitty slobs who need every advantage we can get just to barely win damn it
