I have a friend who pretty much only plays junglers and mid lane talon. Some lanes are pretty hard for him but most games from level 6 onward he is dominating the map and can kill most non-tank enemies on sight.

Just saying it works if you put effort into it, I've seen the results.

Ye he's kinda weak early game because he's melee and can be mana hungry so ranged poke mages can hurt you, that's why you usually start with flask + potions to outsustain their poke. As soon as you get Tiamat + Brutalizer you'll be able to almost 1 shot any squisy on the map.
