What in Rune Terra can I do to improve my play against Nasus?

Alright, this is a really sad post. I'm currently Platinum 2, in my opinion a decent Top Lane main and a decent player overall, but I still struggle against Nasus whenever I play against him. What happens is as follows:

>Enemy Summoner picks Nasus >Audible groans >Picks Champion that a) I am kinda comfortable with or b) a typical counter that I don't usually play (rarely do I pick this option) >In lane feels super pressured to deny him farm because THAT'S WHAT EVERYONE SAYS BUT THEN HE JUST FREEFARMS UNDERTOWER!!! >Over-commits to denying farm, accidentally ignoring my own >Screws up , +6

The only solution I came up with back when I was in Silver was to simply join him since I couldn't beat him. I just picked Nasus every, single, game. I climbed to Platinum with him alone.

Since I play him so much (and basically always win lane with a few rare exceptions) I feel and know that I cannot beat him because no one has ever beaten me as him.

The few exceptions: Tanky Champions with strong wave-clear like a RoA Lissandra (I usually split-push with Nasus since team-fighting with him can go both ways), and the other exception being Darius (The only Champion who poses a problem well past level 9). So why not pick the exceptions? Wave-clearing champs put Nasus under tower (in my opinion a big no-no), and I epically fail at playing Darius (I don't know how you guys do it).

Anyway, maybe it's just my mindset, but if anyone has some advice on dealing with a Champion who in my honest opinion needs a slight nerf (and I main him) it would be greatly appreciated.

tl;dr scrub looking for advice on being good lane bully pl0x i cant even

Master Yi will murder Nasus later in the game, which can prevent him from being a splitpush menace.

I find that champions who are tanky, have innate sustain, or have mixed damage are the most annoying to lane against as Nasus. For example: Olaf Darius Akali Gnar Chogath Hecarim Shyvana

Alternatively, you could arrange for your team to laneswap. Nasus cannot really do anything against a 1v2 lane, especially not against certain ADCs (Kog'maw, Vayne, etc) and they can essentially freefarm. Pick a champion who can farm safely from a distance or who can function well without much farm: Jayce Morgana Kennen Lulu Ryze Urgot

Also, try to avoid pushing him to his tower, since that's exactly where Nasus wants to be. It might be a good idea to do a jungle camp at level 1 so that:

  • You can match Nasus in sustain
  • You have more combat stats if you have a Doran's item
  • There is no way Nasus can stop the wave from pushing and he can't really push it to your tower before you get to lane. This leaves Nasus overextended and you in a position to freeze the wave, which makes it easy for your jungler to gank him.

Nasus doesn't really build armor penetration, so a little armor can severely reduce his damage. If you have to fight him, having one or more of the following items can make it much easier: item 3047 item 3075 item 3143

Nasus can be quite susceptible to kiting, so the following items can help you peel for your team while they kill him: item 3025 item 3022 item 3143

Instalok teemo

Freeze lane and blind nasus to prevent q stacks.

Every second that you are not csing should be spent harassing nasus,

Laugh as nasus has 32 q stacks 20 mins in game.

You guys are so off.

Olaf.

His literally only role in that game is to smack nasus with true damage every time its up.

True damage + AD caster who actually has a late-game?

I disagree with the comments about Darius. If Darius doesn't get a kill pre-6 he can't do anything to Nasus.

In general some of the best things i've found, is to freeze the lane at level 1 and make it push towards you. Let him get a few stacks, don't try to totally zone him, because you need CS too. Harass and trade like you would using any lane bully (I really like Cho against nasus, but also shen, hec, lulu, morg)...His weak early game will show itself and eventually if you cs + trade as normal, he'll get pushed out. He might have a slight xp advantage early but the more you keep the wave on your side of the map, the better. You can't get ganked, he can't get assists, he has to struggle for farm and he's always low.

Play Akali.

Q him. If he tries to cs, proc your Q. Since Q has a 100% uptime, he shouldn't be able to cs.

Repeat. Kill at 6.

In addition, by denying farm, you should be freezing lane, not shoving into his tower.

Above all... I would let Nasus push lane, which he will, and then ask for ganks. Patience is key.

Two words...Grevious Wounds. Was much easier when more items gave it. Now you need to counter pick through champions. RIP Executioners Calling...sniff sniff

Got a Nasus issue? Pick Darius..He shits on him so much, I already knew it but when I play top I am usually in team builder so I am Vlad, but I played ranked earlier, had a nasus, so I went darius and he had something like 100 stacks at 20 minutes lol. Yes I know im bronze but that doesn't change the fact that in the last week ive played against nasus like 10-15 times because its all that's picked in team builder it seems. Just stop his q farm and you are golden, pots pots pots
