Orianna W damage while Q travel

I have just lost a game horribly versus an Orianna who managed to Q/W me every single time and make her W damage and slow apply before her Q finished travelling. Is this normal? Because I asked the player and all I got was a "stfu" so great sportsmanship and kindness in the league community, as per usual. I was playing with 60fps, 40ping and no lag or dcs or anything so just optimal playing conditions so there was no lag that could have any effect on what I saw. Any decent (as in kind) Orianna players who could enlighten me on the subject?

The only thing I could think is that the moment the ball hits hits location she instantly pushed W. It does work fast, but not sure if I completely understand the problem you are talking about.

Her W is instantaneous...so I see no reason why it's not normal to be able to W mid flight as long as you're quick on the trigger. It merely activates based on the spot the ball was at the time it was activated. If you're smartcasting your abilities...you can obviously do this incredibly quickly.

Assuming you mean in mid flight and not near the end of the flight, it shouldn't activate until the moment it lands. I haven't been playing Orianna long, so my information may not be entirely correct.
