Why am I so bad now?

PhokingAndrew··2 votes·1,056 views

Ever since I came back from a 10 day vacation I just make really bad decisions and I can't seem to solo my laner nearly as much as I use to. I am plat 4 so I was at least half way decent before the vacation but now I'm just complete crap that can barely hang in the lower elo when I play normals with my friends. Any thoughts on what I can do to get back to my normal self?

Read up on patch notes learn whats changed and just practice. Thats why NFL practice so much in the off season. Take a break and youll start to lose what you know

Yeah that is a good analogy. And I should start reading all of the patch notes instead of just look for the changes on champions I mainly play :P

I took a week break before and it felt strange when I came back too. I think League is one of those games where if you stop playing for awhile, you lose some of the sharpness you had before. Unlike FPS's, where once you're pretty good you can pick it up and the learning curve is much faster. What I did was watch YouTube videos of gameplay, sometimes the little things or certain combos was what I was forgetting. I am not nearly as high as you, but I figured since you asked I'd chime in and tell you it's not weird. Another thing I did was just spam 1 champion to get the feeling back. Once I started to make better decisions, I was able to move on to other champs that I liked playing/knew how to play and did fine.

That's some good advice! Thank you. And you may not be higher rank but you definitely got a better grasp of the mental part of the game than me haha

I just started playing about 10 months ago, but I tried pretty hard to find out what it took to be successful at winning games since I was in Bronze 2 when I placed this season. So I tried to understand everything and why I got my rank, etc. So pretty much, just watch videos about stuff you're not familiar with. There's a lot of stuff on YouTube.

You just come back from a nice vacation and this game is what you're worried about? Your priorities are wrong and I have no advice for you. Stop playing.

I'm 17 dude. I don't really have much to worry about but maybe school.

My apologies for assuming! In that regard, I encourage you to play your favorite champ, the one that win or lose perform well or poor you have fun to play. That, or play a champ like Bard, Tahm, Braum, or Janna. And just have fun hoppin around and throwing wards and playing Big Bro/Sis. These kinds of champs are usually tension free and rewarding to play, and in a bunch of normal que games should help put you back in the frame of mind you wanna be in.

Watch some of your old replays and compare them to what you are doing now to get a feel for what you need to work on.

Good luck with the climb!

Is there a program that you use personally use that you can recommend? I'd definitely like to check it out

If you go to na.op.gg and look yourself up before a game starts, you can click in-game info. From there, it's basically like lolnexus if you've used such things. From there, you can click an option that says 'record' or something like that. It's a grey button with a camera on it.

Sometimes, the server won't let you record because it's busy or something like that. But usually, it records for me. If you want to watch your replay, just refresh your match history on op.gg and the match you recorded will have a small 'replay' button of sorts on the top right of it. Just click it and it'll attempt to save it onto your computer. It's a safe download, but if you use chrome, it'll say that the download is harmful.

To override this, go to your downloads (ctrl + j), and select the op.gg download and click the override option. It'll download and you can select it from your computer and watch your replay.

Sorry for the long explanation, but hopefully it'll be useful for you.

My replay tool of choice is League Summoner Information. It not only records all of your games as replays, but it also has a nice client with statistics about your gameplay, an in-game overlay which shows the runes and masteries of all players in your game and better death recaps. It automatically updates every patch so you don't always have to worry about it breaking, although occasionally your old replays won't work after a patch.

You can download it at http://www.leaguelsi.com .
