Most Damage

So, I have been hearing this argument alot, "I did most damage, I didnt lose the game." and I just wanted to settle the score. Just because you did the most damage, doesn't mean you helped at all. In fact anyone in any lane can pick an early game champ, go ham all game suiciding every minute just to do damage. Then since your team is so far behind you lose quick before anyone can get items and scale up. Just because you do most damage doesn't mean you played well.

I agree completely! I also feel like sometimes there are people who I have seen make mad plays, baits, voluntarily die to enemies by distracting, etc. But these players sometimes have a bad score. I'd like to point out it's not always your score or damage, but what you do in the game to make you or your team win. :)

I had a 15/16/2 ADC argue the same thing the other day; I pointed his damage taken was higher than his damage dealt. He sent out a ton of damage because he kept getting caught out and dying, but taking one of them with them in the process...

Thats not necessarily true. What you should be more concerned with is assists and kills because they don't tell you much about the players' contribution in teamfights or the game since ANYONE can kill steal or autoattack the dying enemy for an assist. On the other hand, total dmg dealt by each person to champions tells you more about the player's contribution in the game especially if he dealt way more dmg than the rest of your team did.

KDA means shit if your nexus is destroyed.

the only people who believe this are bad players, and bad players aren't going to listen to you

yeah i like using stats such as damage delt to figure out how well my build did if it was meant for damage i should have quite a bit of damage if it was designed around healing i wanna see how much healing i did. i never understood the people that use damage to say they didnt lose

I agree, I was about 6/0/2 as Veigar and had an ability power of 1000 and still lost due to lost top and bot lanes.

most dmg to champions signifies a lot more than K/D/A though...

the data can also be skewed say if you're top lane, your against a tank and you harass them for the entire lane you can easily have the most damage dealt even if you do nothing in the mid/late game.
