What champion next?

So, I've been alternating mainly between Mid and Support since I started doing PVP games (I am level 18 as of now), and I seem to favour Ahri and Morgana for those two roles respectively. I feel I've gotten fairly decent at both, and I think I should branch out and acquire a few new champs with different mechanics I could try and get equally good at.

My pool right now is: Ahri, Annie, Ashe, Irelia, Jinx, Le Blanc, Master Yi, Morgana, Thresh, and Tristana.

I was thinking of picking up Syndra or Xerath and maybe Sona? Does anyone have any advice or opinion on what it the best route to take when learning either role?

Right now, i highly suggest you save IP to fill out an AD and AP rune page with tier 3 runes.

I'd be buying with RP and saving IP. I have been as per recommendation from some friends and have just over 10k. I overlooked making flat rune pages though for some reason, so thank you! I will do that.

This. Champion purchases shouldn't be your priority with those tier 3 runes coming up soon. They're a lot more expensive than you think, and dropping enough IP for extra pages is even more so. Worry about making sure you have enough to run with most champs comes first, then start tailoring your style according to the champions you like, and are able to use after saving up the IP/burning the RP to get. It'll help you in the long run because, believe me, having bad runes when you hit level 30 is an easy way to lose lane for the next three months as you try and save up IP. IP that will be coming much slower due to losses or bad performances.

^ I know this sounds stupid af but seriously, you need to invest something near 10k IP on tier 3 AD and AP runes. I checked your runes. RIP. Tier 1 and 2 runes are actually fakes, it's useless. Should've waited until you hit level 20 to buy tier 3 runes, man...

Syndra is difficult to play but once you get the hang of it you can just win your lane 99% of the time since she's a lane bully and her ball stun's range is really big and lasts really long. She has a single-target AP nuke (R).

Zed is also "difficult" to understand as a whole champion but he deals a fk tons of single target damage (like Syndra) but he's more mobile and AD-based. Better at split push, where he can 1v1 anyone. But it's hard for him to 1v1 tanks without Last whisper.
