I haven't had much success with Rek'sai in PvP, even on release when she was apparently broken and could 1v3 at level 1... apparently. Now she's getting that new skin, and the absurdity of her ult is really tempting me to buy it.
But like I said, I suck with Rek'sai, so could anyone give me some tips? Item builds, playstyle, focus on ganking or farming, etc. etc. I'd like to get better, because the prospect of being omnipresent is pretty appealing when I'm jungling.

white smite is incredibly situational compared to other smites sticking to blue might indeed be your best bett
if you are ever to lose map control this would mean you have a useless smite cause it wont do shit in your jungle
how ever if you are having map control this item can be verry powerful it allows you to take away the enemys entire jungle on low level incredibly easy it allows you to farm allot faster (while setting the enemy jungler behind )
i rarely ever buy it, i do like it on some junglers but than its stil situational and since you are upgrading smite first item theres really no way to know if you just bought a good item unles somehow all your lanes just made 2 kills
--> white smite is verry good on this you can walk into the enemy jungle while they are clearing their red/blue q + smite (cause smite is always up ) and the movement speed bonus u get afther just walk away lol
--> if you are having map control shaco makes good use of it

id actualy usualy go for trailblazer on annyone since more sustain = saver jungle more mana more clears and ganks is better jungling (anny situation )
but these 3 dont seem to need the sustain that badly

She doesn't have a ton of CC but her little MS boost while burrowed and her tunnel makes it pretty easy to catch up to her target, and knock they're knocked up you're in a good spot. Getting red smite adds some true damage to your auto attacks and helps you pack some punch.
That said, generally build offtank rather than heavy damage. Rek'Sai is going to be in the middle of a fight and needs to be able to survive it. I might get the Warrior enchantment but then build a few tanky items before getting more damage.
With her tunnels she has really good map presence and ganks. She is also a good counter-jungler so if you do pick up whitesmite you can take their camps really easily and move through their jungle quickly.
Leave a tunnel near top/bot lanes somewhere in the jungle so you can quickly ult to a lane to help out or set up a gank.

id say never warrior upgrade seems to most up smite upgrade of all i do build it on junglers 
but only cause atk speed isnt that usefull for them ap isnt and tankyness isnt
if your jungler can go tanky id strongly recoment picking up cinderhulk instead
on most junglers i play that do get warriors i rarely ever get it first item either where on kha zix or shaco for example id get my t2 smite and than instead of getting warriors il start building 
cause i feel like it does allot more for me

I agree with this, when she ganks, you shouldn't need a ton of cc if the lane you ganked follows up. It should be a quick in and out.

thats what i said... lol she lacks cc so dont go in if your laner isnt folowing up she also isnt that strong early like nidalee who can go into a lane and kill someone so you should not ever go in (early game) unles you are sure your laner will folow up on you preferebly on your nock up since afther that they will just walk away from you

The point is, you don't need more cc then your knock up, with the follow up from the lane you gank it's easy mode.
Serevas1 votesI've actually come to love Rek'sai in the past couple weeks, I've had a good bit of success playing her, both before, and after the recent HP nerf.
I typically build as my jungle item on her, cinderhulk itself makes her clear speeds in the jungle very fast so farming is very efficient, but gives a lot of survivability for ganks, teamfights, etc. I'll typically take 
for my second item, it's armor shred, which Rek'Sai stacks very quickly, makes her AD based damage very strong, and aids your ADC along with any other AD laner you may have in the game. I'll typically round my build out with 
if the support hasn't started building it, 
or 
. Now if the support is building locket or if it's not really needed due to minimal to nonexistent magic damage on the enemy team, you can flip it to be an armor item, spirit visage could become an armor item and you could pick up sight stone, there's a lot of variability in how you can build Rek'Sai.
I build her 21/9/0 for mastery with spell and blade weaving, I also take expose weakness. For my Runes I run Flat AD Quints, Flat AD Marks, Flat Armor Seals, 6 Flat Magic Resist Glyphs, and 3 Scaling Magic Resist Glyphs. I feel the 6/3 ratio gives me good early game MR paired with a good larger scaling for late game when AP based laners get really threatening.
There's no real road map to what you should do while jungling, I typically farm pretty heavily and look for opportunities to gank lanes as well as counter jungle. Despite her being a strong counter jungler, I never recommend poacher's knife to anyone ever. I think it's a very sub par item, and that you get a whole lot more out of Stalker's instead. The only other jungle item I'd suggest is if you're having issues sustaining in the jungle, which after first clear you shouldn't be, get the Ranger's Trailblazer item.
With Rek'Sai, you need to set up a network of tunnels around the map, being able to gank top and then within seconds be bot lane ganking them is what makes Rek'Sai so incredibly lethal as a jungler. You need to have tremendous amounts of map awareness to effectively play Rek'Sai, but you shouldn't worry about using your ult to just get back out to your jungle either as that's also very effective. Rek'Sai can gank when people are in the middle of the lane as long as you have follow up from your team, and she almost guarantees a kill when the enemy is pushed in against your tower. Don't be afraid to try lane ganks, they work quite well also.
