let's say i'm a squishy ADC like jinx against a thresh/tristana. The blitz grabs thresh I get flayed and now have to try to juke the hook. meanwhile tristana rocket jumps in and starts blasting away... Is there ever a legit reason to grab thresh in this matchup?
Well thresh is easier to kill than tristana. Thresh isnt really a tank, he doesnt get armor per level, his tankiness is dependant on his soul collection and early its very low.Tristana can jump and escape. But, if u know blitz is gonna grab someone why are u so close to him to get flayed?
You shouldn't be so close that flay/hook is even something that Thresh can do without a flash, so theres that.
Thresh is always the ideal grab target in this matchup because trist will simply rocket jump away after the CC providing you with no kill opportunity. Thresh will have to run away after the grab giving you time to get ample damage on him if not kill him outright.
Blitz should be positioning himself between you and Threst/Trist such that trist would have to put herself out of position in order to counter engage on you.

Blitzcrank versus Tristana is a hard counter for Blitzcrank. But if he is grabbing Thresh you shouldn't be standing directly next to Blitzcrank.
