Why does no one go Essence Reaver?
I get it on a few of my adcs like Lucian, Varus, and Tristana because they use a lot of mana. Is there a reason why no one builds it?

It is pretty niche, it's fine on Lucian and Varus, but other one or two others it really doesn't help much. And even when it is useful, it may not really be the the best item to have in most situations.
BT has more lifesteal and the mana problem is a personal problem. You really shouldn't have that much of a mana issue on those champions.
It is good for AD casters aka Jayce, Blue Ezreal. For the reason a vast majority of their damage is poke and poke uses mana. ADC's are supposed to deal damage through pure aa's. Lucian is different but his mana costs are at a point where they are low enough to sustain with just base mana regen and time.
If you had two people with the same skill level on lucian and same build except one built blood and the other reaver the bloodthirster would win.
It's definitely a niche item. I've seen it built on Varus and Sivir in the LCS. Basically, if you're at a point where you're going to be using spells more than you auto while still being auto-attack reliant but you don't need a huge amount of mana health or wave clear, it's fine.

Essence reaver is useless due to one thing.
By the time you can afford Essence Reaver, you don't have mana problems due to mana growth per-level, along with regen, unless you're champions such as..GP, Ezreal, or Varus. It's practically useless because mana sustain isn't an issue by mid-level. If it was cheaper, gave less stats, and was easier to acquire early game, it MIGHT be worth it, and it could possibly build into some NEW item? Maybe then it'd be good.

Main reason is most ADCs are crammed for items and prefer BT.
