Just looking for any tips on my Shen, Advice in general about my builds or stats, things I should work on. Any Advice is appreciated but if you can let me know what rank you are when you give it. Not that lower Elo's can't give good advice and I'll listen to anyone's critics. Thanks You

So I'm low gold and don't main shen, but have coached traditional sports in the past and I think some principles may apply here. Instead of giving advice on what I'm not an expert let me ask some questions to see if you can fully explain the reasoning (you may notice places to improve that I wouldn't when you think about why you do certain things).

It looks like you're rushing sunfire and sterak's for most games, w/ plate and an mr item thrown in (aegis or BV). I'm not used to sterak's since I haven't played w/ it enough to be sure of what to run it on in ranked. What is your logic for sterak's first over plate? Why do sterak's, plate, and sunfire all fit your build instead of perhaps omen to reduce crit and be even more tanky? Also have you considered baner vs locket to split push two lanes at once (ie banner a cannon minion top lane, stat split pushing bot, while your team 4 mans mid and you can tp/ult to them for a fight)?

Part of why I ask about the build is the last game you play w/ yas urgot and 3 sources of magic damage. There is no info on teams so I don't know if your support built aegis, or if the yas was particularly fed, but you have 4 armor items, 1 hp item, and a single mr item. If brand isn't farmed, and Malphite + Ekko went straight tank this is probably fine as long as your team has aegis. However, urgot is a lower dmg adc and more of an anti carry so I question if malph+ekko maybe bring enough damage w/ the brand to warrant another mr item?

Lastly, your ranked stats have some tanks so my guess is your team fighting w/ shen is probably solid bc the higher level concepts of how to play the tank role make sense to you. There aren't any split pushers in your ranked really though, so I wonder how you would rate your overall knowledge of split pushing? Do you feel at all comfortable out side of lane phase on champs like tryn or nasus who generally rely heavily on putting out a lot of split pressure? One thing that may really improve your Shen play (especially since you're mid gold so you probably have the mechanics to handle lane well if you practice him) is to look at how you can improve your overall skill at split pushing. Applying more pressure w/ the split will allow you to make the most of your strong team fighting skills on tanks. If you win a team fight and have a lane pushed up (or even both other lanes) then you can often take an extra tower or two that you wouldn't be able to w/ just the won fight and pushing that lane. I'm sure you know already, but the advantage of 2 towers vs 1, can be huge, and if you take a second inhib in addition to what you could if your split wasn't going well, that can win the game by itself down the line.
