Why Auto Attacking during Laning Phase is Important

Hey guys, it's me Torenthal! I was recently featured on "The Climb" on the boards here by Riot Opti, and I just wanted to come back and present my newest video!

Hope you guys enjoy and realize the potential of auto attacking and try and do it as much as you can during laning phase :)

Pretty important for playing a ranged support. Some people think "oh you just sit back and heal Nami". No, most of the time I am harassing the hell out of the enemy. Every time they are about to CS, I'm there to piss you off and get gold for it through my Bandit mastery and Spellthief's. If they are using a shield like Janna, being more efficient about it and hitting the guy who doesn't have the shield on is how you win lane in an even matchup. They using Malphite support? Don't let his shield recharge.

So many times, my measly 0 bonus AD auto attacks getting constantly weaved in results in kills that would've just walked away.

tfw you miss some cs in your example clip.

still a great tip though. for the purposes of this video, perfect execution means nothing, just the information

Another nice tip from Torenthal. Mind doing a video about how to properly harass as a support, and the correct way to help your adc farm under turret (if they need it)?

I'm so tired of getting supports that mindlessly auto my minions, messing up my last hitting and who hide behind me when the enemy comes in to poke/harass. Especially if they are: Thresh Soraka Sona Karma Morgana Janna Lulu Lux As someone who plays A LOT of support, this just drives me nuts when I play adc.

Pretty pointless for midlaners. On early levels the retaliation damage from caster creeps will probably be higher than the autoattack damage you deal to the enemy. Not worth drawing creep aggro when you can just harass with spells(which don't draw aggro).

So true.. I just got critized by my adc earlier cause he wnts to play aggresive but kept getting aa'ed by enemy adc while my adc kept focusing on getting cs. the focus of cs and pokes.funny how she blamed me for not going aggresive as wnted when herself is getting poked.

I find it funny when AP mages tries to challenge Zed to an autoattack battle

Its not as easy as youre making it out to be though because minion return damage can make that AA worthless if not an hp loss for you, which can be confounded if your opponent hits you with their own AA afterwards or if they use an ability.

Im not saying its a bad video, ive definitely played with people that focus 100% on farming and never harass their opponent but I think it would be best to make a longer video going into more detail on the nuance of doing this properly, and perhaps mentioning that while AAs draw minion aggro, abilities do not.

Really appreciate your vids though, spreading knowledge is never a wasted effort!

When I see a ADC not do this in ranked it pisses me off

Especially if they are playing Ashe

+1 good video
