Duo Top with Mordekaiser?

With the new Mordekaiser having that xp advantage in duo lanes I was wondering if he could break the game in Top Lane.

So it goes like this. Instead of having a jungler you take a 2nd support to the top lane. This person takes a item 3097 and so does Mordekaiser. Each of you will proc Targon's and get gold. Mordekaiser will still get max XP from minions due to his re-work. The support builds either Tanky or Utility and focuses down the enemy solo lane leaving Mordekaiser to CS freely. The support takes TP and Smite to help around the whole map and to take monster objectives such as Dragon and Baron.

So with the top side support not having Flash it would have to be someone with a speed up or CC such as a slow to get away. Who comes to mind? Zilean. Now here is something extra crazy to think about. Zilean's passive gives bonus XP, this combined with Mordekaiser will mean even faster growth rates at Top lane than if he were solo.

Zilean would only have to build item 3097 > item 2049 > item 3341 > item 3504 > item 3050 > item 3060 >item 3401 >item 3157 as an example build.

I am aware that way back when this was already a thing and Targon's had to me nuffed because of it. I'm just saying, it could be a thing again. Also giving it a time-stamp date in case it shows up in pro play... saying I (a bronze 4) thought of it first.

I'd be willing to try it, but too bad everyone dodges any game with mordikaizer even in teambuilder. :/

Jungler sharing XP at level 1 and 2 then going into the jungle may be viable, I think. I don't think having two duo lanes is a good thing, though. No jungler->No gold/XP from jungle used.

If there's a duo top, then there should be a solo bot.

This sounds like an interesting idea.

Morde's passive only gives him full XP, not his support. Since smite damage increases with level he should be the one with TP smite so it is at a higher level.

Imagine if he also ran XP runes as well, i wonder if all that bonus XP multipliers might make them worth it.

An interesting strategy. Risky though. Not having a jungler means that when the 2nd support's TP is down, the other lanes are not getting any help. Likewise, the jungler player playing a 2nd support would sacrifice most of the XP and gold he'd get farming his jungle.

On the flip side, having a 2v1 lane means that the enemy top laner is either consistently zoned off his minions or dead. The team with 2 supports is generally better than a team with 4 champions and 1 guy with 16 cs and/or 4 deaths at ten minutes. If the enemy jungler constantly camps top to try and alleviate the 2v1, it just becomes a 2v2 lane that the enemy team wasn't prepared for.

Although Zilean is not my first pick for this strat. Targons isn't easily proc'd by ranged champions and he doesn't provide enough cc to help Morde land three Qs consistently. Blitzcrank Braum Nautilus Leona would be my recommendations.

The only things is that Morde doesn't need a support champ per se. He actually works better with the Likes of Voli, Garen, Shen. Champs who can engage, and stay in the fight and deal adequate damage. Morde has not only changed ADC meta he has changed support meta. And when I say Graren or Shen they don't need to build like a support they can still build as normal more than less.

Not having a jungler is a big disadvantage.
