Nami is a great well-rounded one, which is nice. She has a bit of everything. Sona, as well. So if you're looking for only a single or small handful of champions, playing something adaptable is nice.

Zyra is my favorite "poke" support, if you're looking specifically to bully people out of lane.

A good Thresh (though very hard to play) is game-changing.

Brand is an atypical support to learn, but also a great damage dealer and quite strong.

Brand, Zyra, Morgana, Lulu, and Karma are all good supports who also work well in solo lanes if Support is ever taken from you, which might up your desire to learn them.

TBH a good Nami is one of the scariest supports to play against.

I can't tell you how many times I've lost lane to a good nami.

Cassiopeia

Amazing poke bully with spelltheif and Q max first. One Q hit and it will proc all of your spellthief charges. Their are two champions in bot lane, so in theory you can farm your passive twice as fast. Her ultimate is great for teamfights, kind of like tibbers status.

Item build I like to go item 3092> item 2049 >item 3020 >item 3151 > item 3116 >item 3135.

I'll give you my list and who I like to play them with

Blitzcrank and Thresh are the most powerful solo q carries IMO. They are especially good at capitalizing on enemy mistakes and punish them for summoners or even death.

Zyra is the most aggressive support paired along with MissFortune they are a scary duo. Zyra is good at disengaging or blocking out an entry way or gank way with her stranglethorns.

Janna andSona andSoraka are babysitting supports, they exist to make sure hypercarries like Vayne Tristana get past early game without too much of a cs loss.

Nami is a special case, babysitting support but she can be played with aggro adc's to bully instead of kill. You don't need to land her ult like most supports. instead, her ult is meant to cut off escape ways, ways to get to your adc, ways to kill your VIPs. Braum falls here as well.

Support main here. I have recently adopted Maokai as my main tank support. A lot of people don't expect him to go bot, especially in picks. He's an unexpected support, but does a lot of damage/poke. Also a fan of Nami, Morgana, Blitz, and Soraka. A lot of people don't appreciate Soraka as much anymore, but she is definitely great for sustaining if you can hit her Q a lot.

Nami and Thresh /thread I play Nami right now but I've had some success playing Thresh in Normals !!!

I'm personally sticking mostly with Braum and Janna for whenever I play support, with a few other champions (Sona, maybe Soraka and Karma) thrown into the mix. I actually played a lot of Gragas support this past season, but mostly because I mained him in mid lane before his rework; I've started to move away from him since he didn't feel great late game since you don't get much gold on support. As others have mentioned, Nami, Zyra, and Thresh are great supports but have a bit of a higher learning curve than most champions. Leona's also a good choice as well.

Nami is great because she is kinda ranged and can bubble enemies to give ur adc kills. also her ult is a huge wave which is awesome.

I main support and mid lane. I like to play ranged support and mage/support champions. This is because some of these champions can go many different lanes. these champs include Janna Leona Lulu Lux Morgana Nami Orianna Sona Soraka Syndra Velkoz Zyra :Anivia AnnieBard Karma sorry if i put some twice or left some out.

Also, some melee supports can be good as most of them can go top lane. these champs are:Blitzcrank Braum Alistar Galio Nautilus Nunu Thresh TahmKench

For support, i main some of the ranged mage/supports such as Karma Lux Anivia and Morgana . as you can see these champions have one thing in common. an ability to root/snare/bind or massively hinder an enemy's movement. Karma 's focus resolve (w), Lux 's light binding (q),Anivia 's flash frost(q) and crystallize (w)..The trolling wall. Morgana 's dark binding (q), and soul shackles (r) .

One of the best supports to play is Lulu as (apparently) she can go top, mid, and supp. giving you a diverse range of lanes to choose from.

And remember. Lux IMMA FIRIN MA LAZOR Lux

P.s. Idk y Lux isn't picked as a support, she has great ability to peel for your adc, especially her ability to instant chop your enemies hp to half. don't u sometimes find it annoying when a champ just get's out of ur range?Lux can bind, slow, damage and snipe enemies from a horrifyingly long range, something champs like Blitzcrank ,Nami and Braum can't do

There are 3 supports I use for any given team team comp- Zyra for poke, Nami for sustain/poke and Janna for defensive. I'll also go to Braum for defensive because he's both engage/disengage. (RIP Leona). Play 10 normal games with each and look at your own team comp as well as theirs. Ask the playstyle of your adc as well.

Primary

  • Zyra is fantastic with bursty champs, low CD on a snare that can't get minion blocked (like Morgs) with an attached slow on the plants
  • Nami is great for general CC. Tell your adc to watch for your E so they can aa and slow the champ you want to bubble. I always max E first, but if your adc is having issues with minion aggro or is a hyper carry, maxing W is probably a better way to go
  • Janna is one of the best supports around and the safest to pick, she can go with or against any comp- her shield negates damage and boosts your adc's damage output, her heal is a disengage or can be used for a flash/engage, her Q slows and interupts a lot of ults (looking at you Katarina) and her W is another slow with a built in speed boost.

Primary 2.0

  • Braum is the great bambino of supports- his Q's can be devastating when landed on the champ you want to kill. He can be resource heavy so don't spam your Q. The bests Braums wait until the other side has an offensive/defensive spell on CD before using Q. So wait until the Morg snare, Nami bubble or Blitz hook is on CD, run up and Q or auto attack the adc. Always always stick to the adc whenever possible, you don't want to stick on the support and have their adc picking on your adc. There's some great vidoes out there on Braum. (hell, SivHD took him mid and made him work lol)

Secondary

  • Lux- great poke, slows, and a shield; her utility is fantastic against a Trist or Zilean because her shield will negate their ticking bombs. Bonus: can take her midlane
  • Karma- poke, defensive- fantastic early game potential. Watch your enemies closely to predict your Q lands
  • Lulu- practice using her E on a friendly minion and slowing people with Q. Her biggest downfall is early game mana regen, so be very choosey. Trade off is that her ult has a ridiculously low CD.
  • Fiddle- poke, cc, burst ult. My boyfriend got to gold playing Fid support xD He's really fun, but you have to be like a ninja and use the bushes for your ult. You also have to get a zhonyas pretty quickly so you aren't useless in teamfights.

There's a gent named "ScrapComputer" on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUUnWtcuSp6mEFW9L7uTVoA who has put together a lot of guides. At the end of the day, whatever champs you feel comfortable playing is ALWAYS the way to go.

To wrap up, also play the ADCs in customs or bot games so you know what their abilities are. It was crucial for me to learn ADCs when I was trying to be serious about ranked (and then I got a second job) so I understood what their strengths and weaknesses were.

Annie till diamond

KidKaiser1/2/2015, 7:41:55 AM1 votes

Annie Zyra Blitzcrank Lulu Lux etc.

but serious. roll Zyra or Annie and you can swap into APC while carrying a sightstone for the team.

Annie's AoE Stun is insane. and Zyras plants provides a ton of zone power.

Nami is my favorite support to play and totally recommended. She adapts well to the aggressive or passive play of the AD & she's very versatile which is why she is a such a huge pick in LCS. Anyone that heals, temp increases a players damage, and has an airborne crowd control ult is always worth playing.

Nami is a good support, she provides heals, CC, blessing, and her passive is the best!!

Nami's heal is the queen of the best trades (imo) as if you land it on your ADC while the enemy adc/support is close, it'll heal your ADC, deal damage to your enemy, and heal you back.

Nami's Aqua Prison, is the best, as it's a Stun unlike any other support champions, meaning, if you land it on your enemy adc, it really can save your adc or help your adc drastically.

Nami's Passive is like the best fitting mainly because it gives your allies movement speed which helps out so much early game as adc's tend to have about 335 Movement speed (which is not a lot) and its so useful against those annoying Thresh/blitzcrank hooks.

Nami's Blessing is great for an ADC or uses skill shots or has a strong harass. It gives them movement speed, and bonus magic damage on hit for the next 3 attacks. The blessing works incredibly well with ANY ADC. (Tip: If there's a Draven on my team, I don't tell them, but I max out this first lol.)

Nami's Tidal Wave, best ultimate. It can be used to ambush, or run away, or catch enemies, it even provides movement speed to allies that come into contact with it! It also comes along with a slow and a knock-up! Working well with Yasuo or Malphite!

And also, any allies that are touched by any of Nami's spell, get the extra movement speed.
