Can someone explain me Blitzcrank's ultimate?
All it seem to do passively is steal my ADCs farm. Should I activate the ability right when its off cooldown even if there's no enemy around?

Blitz was made to be a bruiser that goes to a solo lane, not a support. His ult reflects that. If you use him as a support, that's just something you have to deal with.
Tell your ADC to get good if they nag about your passive taking farm. It shouldn't be powerful enough to one shot minions. And any respectable ADC knows how to last hit.
No, it's actually a very good ult IMO. The Passive dmg is kind of pointless and at times takes a bit of cs like yo usaid but the active is very helpful. Best use is for canceling and type of channeling ability such as a ww, malz, kat ult, by using the 0.5 second silence :) Its also very helpful for your combo, for example say u hook an ahri, you can instantly ult her and then knock her up so she cant ult away and your team can kill her before she has a chance. The damage is also pretty nice in team fights and it has a low CD I think around 20 seconds after a couple CDR Items :)

Don't stand next to low health minions.
Start Relic Shield so that any CS that you accidentally take with your ult goes right to your ADC :).
Alternatively, you can stay as far away from the enemy minions as possible so you don't steal them.
I think the active portion of Blitzcrank's ultimate is way too strong to use when there is no enemy around, but the passive is so bad that it is sometimes worth it to just go right up to the enemy just to burn your ult so the passive won't proc.

your ult cant take farm if your mindful of how close you are to the minions, really what blitzcranks ultimate is for is to ensure that whoever you pull cant use an ability and bring a death to your team. you pull someone, activate your ultimate and then knock them up in the air. also as a tip, don't bother pulling the enemy tank, focus on a carry of their because if your team is aware of whats happening they can kill the enemy carry before your pull is even completed. then your free to push forward because they have no heavy damage output

build relic shield and save a charge so that if your passive takes a minion it still gets shared.
It's a silence, and precisely why Blitzcrank has a powerspike at level 6 Hook -> E -> R = NO ESCAPE 8)
And that's why you get Relic Shield as Blitzcrank b/c even if your ultimate kills a creep your ADC still has the gold
The passive lightning strike is hilarious if you have Rylai's Crystal Scepter, as it's not an AOE ability so it applies the full slow and you just chase forever with your W.
