Dont pick Vayne if your support is Blitzcrank

So recently I've been playing alot of Blitzcrank. I have been successful at learning his kinks and little tricks to guarantee pulls, and have come to the conclusion that Blitz really doesn't have any "bad" match ups*. The one thing that pretty much guarantees a useless blitz is a Vayne adc. Lets first look at vaynes strengths and weaknesses :

Strength: Amazing duel potential after getting BoRK One of the best late game ADC True damage silver bolts let vayne shred tanks Can kite and dodge skills well with her dash can easily solo carry games

Weaknesses: Weak early game Requires alot of peel in teamfights Hard cc and ignite make vayne alot less effective Requires alot of skill and game knowledge (mostly zone control) to play No burst damage Very little kill potential in laning phase

Now I have nothing against a good vayne player, but looking at her weaknesses and what Blitz has to offer we see that there are a few good reasons to not pick vayne if your support is a blitzcrank. Firstly Blitzcranks feed on lane phase kills/pressure, this is the main reason many people play blitz. The ability to kill/scare off two people on a team is an amazing tool, but when your 99% sure your adc will die if you grab the enemy adc you lose all that pressure and are reduced to just standing by and hoping your vayne can farm, and the enemy bot lane will leave you alone because of your presences. Now this is the norm for most vayne lanes, they are weak, and almost never win laning phase unless the enemy bot lane leaves them alone. Most supports are fine with this as killing isnt a necessity, they can easily complete a few items and have a good impact late game. Now I know what your probably telling yourself that Blitz too can have a good impact late game with a godly grab to an enemy carry, and your right, but if you miss that grab you've used half of the cc you have and the enemy can engage. Knowing this a good blitz will be very wary about using his grab in teamfight, until they try and jump vayne. This very minuscule amount of cc barley even helps vayne much less than any support I can think of. To surmise blitz does nothing for vayne early/mid/late and forces blitz to play a style not meant for a blitzcrank.

Much luv ~Blitz main

  • Sure the go to counter for Blitz is sivir and morg, but sivir can be ran up to with w then e to break spell shield and then grabbed (or vise versa) or you can just focus the enemy support. Morg on the other hand takes a little more skill to beat. The best way i've found is to try to bait the spell shield out, or pull as minions are dying (so the hook goes through the dying minion to grab the adc/morg)

First, you're thinking about this all wrong. You should be picking your support either into your adc, or their bot lane combo. You don't just pick blitzcrank because that's what you want. Talk to your adc and ask who and how they are going to play. Pick blitz only when you have a kill lane or aggressive early game lane. Blitz doesn't need kills to be useful, just makes sure you land the skillshots. In otherwords, don't just randomly go for the mad life hook, wait for bad positioning that will guarantee it. If all else fails, silence and punch are still huge in a teamfight. The amount of pressure a blitz adds to a bot lane is fricken ridiculous.

Also, trust, if a sivir/morg let's you walk up to them and pull or even pull through minion, they died because of them not you. >.> Morg can spell shield both of your spells and sivir can protect herself in case morg doesn't (by using spell shield and positioning correctly)
