Roam.
If the other lanes are pushed to your side of the map sneak down and gank them (ganking isn't just for the jungler.) This works especially well after you kill your opposing mid laner or force them to back.
If your lanes are behind in gold the best way to get back in the game is taking turrets so you can get global gold. Rotations are the best way to get your team back in the game.
I just posted a game where all my team does all game is rotate. We smash the other team without ever having a 5v5 team fight. Check it out and let me know what you think.
Faceroll on the keyboard there you go a penta kill and victory for you.
Play a champ with CC my dear.
roam
If you are winning lane, roam and snowball the other lanes. Head down to bot and try to give the kill to adc so they can get back into the game. This is a team oriented game, it's not about having all the kills. Your lane is in the middle of the map, and you can have an impact on the game through that potential map control- just make sure you roam at appropriate times, which is something you have to look into, because you can't just roam anytime. One good time to roam though is when you have killed the enemy laner and pushed out the lane (as long as you aren't half health or something).
If you play mid and you complain about the other lanes feeding "all the time" do something about it. If they feed so hard that it is impossible to win, it is most likely on you (to some extent at the very least) that you didn't do anything. Also make sure you ward because that can help counter your enemy laner's potential roams, and it helps reduce the number of picks the enemy gets on your team.
