So, I am an experienced Darius player looking for ways to improve my game play and guide I started on lolking.

I was wondering if anyone had any useful knowledge as to play Darius effectively? Certain tips, tricks, and plans to use as Darius. Let me know what you also think of my guide, thank you!

Personally, I'm not a fan 
on bruisers (I also despise Maw). On more damage-y top laners like 
, etc--sure; it's fine. I greatly prefer

Although 
is amazing, I'm not sure Darius needs the extra ar.pen (although the ms boost is really nice).
I'd also include a 
somewhere on your guide. Helps with the kiting and actually allows Darius to have a semi-decent initiation.

I don't play Darius, but wouldn't be a good item for helping his teammates because he can apply stacks to multiple opponents with Decimate? The cooldown reduction is nice too even if you don't need the armour penetration. It wouldn't be something you'd build every game because Darius has mixed damage and built-in armour pen, but if you've got two AD teammates then the extra utility could be worth it.

I think BC is always a nice item to get. No matter what the team comp is, you can usually fit it in. The phage passive is amazing for catching and killing people on top of all the nice stats. I consider skipping it though if I'm really ahead and want a Trinity Force.

Dormidon1 votesHello. I'd like to give you some tips. First of all do not use ignite or exhaust in these matchups:
Take teleport instead. Early camp wolves/raptors + 4 heath pot/2 mana pots. Try to out trade him with level advantage. Use your 
to turn your laning power spike into strong ganks. Your core build: 
(1 successful gank to bot lane and you got +45-50 damage with occult) . Renekton doesnt outscale you that hard as Nasus or Cho'Gath so you don't have to use 
the same. You should understand that her level 6 powerspike is way bigger than yours. She can burst you down faster. 
won't help. Good Riven is able to engage and disengage. Bait you to waste Decimate. All you have to do is sticking behind creeps, try to outpush and catch her when she's going to waste her Q dash. Smart Riven doesn't use Ignite. Always teleport. You can't beat early health potion + exp advantage.
I don't get it. What's the problem? Take Doran's shield, early camp (wolves/raptors), masteries to block AA damage. Use MS runes and rush early phage and Ninja Tabi. She won't even hurt you after that. Also don't forget about your E. Too easy to prevent her escape with net by timing her ability cast.Fine. I guess there's nothing to say more about matchups. As for me there're very rare champions which really "hard" to play against. For example: 
P.S Really. Use MS quints. They're too important for Darius. Don't forget Alacrity upgrade on your boots. (I'm Darius main. Diamond IV. Playing with him since release. Check out stats/matchhistory or smth to make sure)

I haven't played that many really good rivens, exhaust usually has won me the fight against normal ones. I'm sure it might be different in diamond though.
Is sword of the occult worth the gold + risk?
The Caitlyn matchup was focused on teamfights rather than laning. In a lane, yeah Caitlyn wouldn't be an issue, but in teamfights she's pretty difficult to catch if she plays correctly. Plus any support can easily peel Darius unless you flash.
I might consider trying out the MS squints.

Worth. For sure. +35 damage for 1400 gold. Even if you lose your stacks Darius has enough AOE damage to reach more stacks and finishing ultimate too. You will learn how to play smarter and safer. Just check my match history and stats on my main acc (this one)
(EUW Shin Randaru - second one. I promoted this acc from PIV to DV with Darius-occult in 1 week). It works.
P.S You shouldn't build if you're not going to be full tank. Magic damage passive works with your bleeding pretty well. But is way better with "bruiser build".
