tryn comes to mind (at level 16, anything can work if you know enough about the game, focus on learning over winning).

as for tips for starting off in PVP, learn the basics of PVP which are play safe when behind, cs, harassing/trading, map awareness, wards, and matchups. this takes time and the more you learn, the easier games get.

for playing safe: if you are two levels lower then someone, don't fight them. chances are, they are stronger.

csing: i've gotten 180 by 20 minutes. your aim as a new player should be about 50 to 60 (more is better of course) cs by 10 minutes and 100 to 140 cs by 20 minutes if you can get that. being able to do that will put you about even, if not ahead of your level.

harassing/trading: if you are 100% focused on csing and the other gets cs and harasses you, you will go now in health. lets say both you and the other laner can withstand up to 10 auto hits. if you never auto the other person and they auto you, once you get down to 2 hits left, you will have to leave lane or you could easily die. during the time you are gone from lane, the other laner could be getting cs and could pass you. if they hit you, you hit them back. there are hard matchups and counters, and that takes a lot of time to learn, but in most cases, if you get hit, you hit them back. if they hurt more, you play safer, if you hurt more, you play aggressive and take control.

map awareness: watch out for ganks and people missing on the map and MIAs. it's not only up to other people to let you know, it's up to you so you don't die. if a stove could be on, you aren't going to just depend on signs to let you know, you will check first before you lean against it (best example I can think of on the spot). if people are missing on the map, know that they could be anywhere and you should be careful.

wards: buy them, place them. they give you vision. don't buy so many that you can't get anything else, but buy one once in a while so that you see a gank (an ambush) coming before it happens. there a videos online you can check to see where the best places are to place the wards.

matchups: even once you hit level 30, you won't know all matchups right away. this will take you a long time to learn, but you will get to know the most common ones by fighting or looking them up. for tryn, I know teemo is a counter, unless you really know what to do. if I don't know what to do vs teemo, I will play super safe so I don't die and make the lane harder on myself. it's ok to ask for a gank from your team, but don't expect one, just hope for one as it's completely up to them.

best of luck to you, and oh, one last thing. mute people who are rude to you. don't argue or fight with them, just mute them and you can report them after game depending on how rude you found them to be.

Here is a link to a pretty solid tryn guide. If you're looking for builds on any given champ, I recommend using that site, the builds are always at least decent.

As for muting, hold tab to bring up the scoreboard. On each line is one player; on the far right of each line is a bubble. Click that to mute.

that build is a bit out of date. a lot of people are taking flash right now because you can spin and flash and still get the damage off and it's good to gap close. take TP in hard matchup, ignite in easier matchups, exhaust isn't so bad, but it's not preferred in a lot of cases and even more so if you take flash. you could just run ignite for them all for now. as for the build, it's not bad, it's not changing much really so you can go with it.

Katarina and Akali. They absolutely melt just about everyone. Fiora as well. Fiora can also melt 3 people at once with her ult. She also has extremely high base AD due to her....w, I think it is. Max w first and it increases your base AD by a lot.

Syndra is incredibly strong at getting kills at any point in the game, even if you fall behind you have the utility to get picks.

Choose any assassin basically.
