Shen Gameplay

Shen is pretty versatile. He can make use of every stat except mana. There is a trick to extending your taunt through the use of flash. Wish I could tell you more, sadly I cannot.

when i play shen i build him as a front line. standard runes and masteries as a normal top tank. what makes a good shen is map awareness to turn fights around with his ult, also trying to get as many people in the taunt as possible.

during laning phase his first few levels can be hard do to unable to really kill people at early stage. keeping in mind u have all means necessary to never have to leave lane, and over arm your opponents.

with shen, just make sure that every time there is a fight breaking out in another lane that you watch the fight. See what summoners were blown, should you enter the fight aggressively? or ult a near death target in hopes of saving them. Also not ulting is always a decision especially if your tp is down. That could make you lose a couple waves of creeps (gold and exp). Need to weigh your options quickly and make a decision.

Look up the difference between flash taunt and taunt flash, It's actually very useful. Also I personally love attack speed runes for him I have 15% in my rune page they really smooth out his AA animation IMO and makes last hitting and getting off that extra Kai strike when you need it is a live saver. Max his taunt second unless you're losing lane, It adds a good amount of dps to him and can be much more valuable then the shield, the best CC in the game is the death timer ; ). You can always ask your bot lane to bait a fight if you want to use your ult you'd be surprised how quickly people over commit to obvious mistakes and it's WAY easier to setup a bait then save a life MUCH MUCH easier. Don't forget about his sustain it adds up pretty quickly if you use it and if you don't need it his Vorpal blade doesn't get minion aggro. Speaking of minions they're your friend and will win you trades when you taunt him into fighting you with a bunch of caster minions around you. Also don't forget you don't need to win lane to win that game farming well will keep you useful. Good Luck!

I personnally don't go DPS shen, i like tank shen as you are incredibly tanky. If their a top lane mage i suggest Spirit Visage to help your Q. If their a bruiser who goes in and out fast with dashes, get Sunfire Cape. Thornmail is really effective epsecially against people like Fi or Riven or Yi. Your W can usually block a turret attack and you should get used to using it as they come at you bro. Then their combo will do less damage while your cc'd. If your pushing always keep over 100 energy for your dash. And hes always weak early game in nearly every build.
