Hi i know the League has gone threw a lot of changes over the years and the community has created a lot of wonderful content. However some of Riot's content is showing its age and strain under the growth. Some of the tips that RIOT has for champs on its own sight are so old that much of it is no-longer of value some can be confusing and just wrong. i know a lot of work goes into the game. and a lot of work goes into community support. The community has also spent a lot of time creating how to guides and videos may hap some of them might be used. Or maybe we could get some players from the LCS make new champion spotlights to replace some of the older videos. Mostly I'm saying the champions page needs some love.

Let's see...another I remember is Vayne's spotlight recommending using tumble to get her third silver bolt proc triggered. Then they later removed it on grounds of it being a bug.

The nice thing is, the game has grown so much that the players have taken it upon themselves to make all sorts of guides, especially video ones. I know they're not official, but you can find a guide for any champion for any level of player familiarity and skill, pretty readily.

Look at Olaf's spotlight, the client in that one was the same as it was early season 1.

Agreed. The champion spotlights I find are very good for new players deciding whether they should try a new champion or not. Some of the information is too outdated in the old spotlights.

They are old, and I remember reading somewhere that Riot learned that. They said that they removed mentioning specific items or masteries in the new spotlights, because those things won't stay like that forever. They're not going to re-do all the spotlights though, because that would take too much effort, and as said by CC Shepard in this thread, there are already so many guides online which exist for pretty much every champion. Plus, the item 3078 puns of damage in each video are hilarious.
