Supports to pick up

Recently I've determined support is my weakest role. I'm just wondering what are some good supp champs to pick up atm. I can play a fairly good Bard and my Shen supp isn't bad. I have Taric, but he is usually overlooked and hes soooo boring to play. Occasionally i play Nunu supp, a throwback pick. Just wondering who to add to my pool. Ty ;)

if you are looking for something more entertaining, try out Nautilus .

He is a big beefy tank, with ridiculous engage, and actually has a very good early game with his e providing quite a bit of damage.

Nami carried me to Gold. got like a 70% win rate with her. She has a lot of CC for peel or engage, she has a heal and and attack boost for your ADC. She very nice.

I main Thresh. Thresh brings the most versatility to the table but requires teammates to be smart and know how and when to use your lanterns. He is a kill/poke laner.

Leona is my second best. She brings tankiness and crowd control. Her downside is that she is weak when forced to play passively and needs a followup from a teammate in order to have a passive ability. Another kill/poke champion.

Nami is my third best. If you want a support that can do everything this is your pick. Nami is always average or above average no matter the meta. The downside is that her bubble is easily dodged. She is a poke/sustain champ.

Janna is the queen of peels. She favors a farm fest style lane. She is one of the best at protecting her carries. Her downside is that she has almost no kill potential. A poke/sustain support.

Lastly I will tell you about Alistar. He is similar to Braum but Braum has better engages. Alistar is the king of peels and is much tankier than Janna. He is difficult to pull off sometimes but can also be a fine initiator come late game. He is very durable for a support. He is a sustain/kill support.

Taric? Boring?? What the FUCK?

But seriously he is super basic, though he's sooooo good if you can rotate his passive correctly.

My favorite has to be the rock, sir malphite. His passive makes it so you can soak tons of damage. He's got q for good peel. The q allows you to not only slow them but you STEAL their move speed, so you will ALWAYS run faster than anyone you fight (not yi doeh, his ult.)

His w allows you to take EVEN MORE damage.

His e is an aoe attack speed reduction that after level two it's better than exhaust (if you use q+e it's better than exhaust.)

And his ult? Well his ult is a fucking unstoppable force that knocks your enemies up AND it does lots of base damage.

And then there are the other basic supports others play.... nami, soraka, sona, thresh, leona. But those are picks everyone uses so fuck them.

You can NEVER go wrong with Thresh. He fits into any team comp and he is very strong. You will have to practice with him a lot though, all of his abilities have offensive and defensive uses.

If you know him, Bard, and Shen, you will be fine.

I main Alistar and I would recommend you give the bull a chance as well. In general, you are likely going to have more impact with him both in lane phase and in team fights then with most other supports. However, Thresh (imo) brings most to the table but is more difficult to master. He has more combos that he can execute and is more rewarding in that regard. I always hate playing against a good Tresh player.

If you're more the engage type I'd recommend Leona , or Thresh

Maybe if you're looking to be more passive in the lane, I'd recommend Janna , or Soraka

It depends on what you are looking for, kinda hard to say anything if you aren't going to mention that at all.

If you are looking for something OP,thresh is your best bet, especially since he comes with a guarantee never to be meaningfully nerfed.

If you are looking for something more specific, kinda need to tell us what that is.
