studder step help

i know the basic idea but there is one thing i cannot figure out while watching streams i see players move the mouse far away from there champion and click move to cancel the attack animation but how do they only take one step by doing so i mean i have seen players hold there mouse far back at the edge of screen and spam moveclick but there only taking one step and they attack without using attack move click or clicking back on the minion?
