Runes for tank

Hey all! I've been looking over my rune pages lately and have been thinking that the page i usually use for tanky champions might be a little lackluster. It consists of the following: attack speed reds, armor yellows, MR blues, and movement speed quints. I have a feeling this is not very viable. If you have any suggestions for runes please leave them below! Thanks :)

If depends on the champs you're playing and what you're playing against.

Honestly....a standard page of Armor yellows, and MR blues is perfectly great for any champ.

A very standard bare bones tank setup for AP - Magic Pen Marks, Armor yellows, scaling MR blues, AP quints.

Standard bare bones AD tank - Attack Damage marks, Armor yellows, scaling MR blues, AD quints.

you can find a rundown of this tuff via good old phreak here - http://boards.oce.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-strategy/Mbfq2QsO-phreaks-guide-to-runes-for-season-5-2015

Depends on champs and matchup, but I generally like a version of Health yellows, MR blues and Armor reds. Quints are either of the three. Sometimes cdr blues or quints.

When I wan't some offense as well I do that in masteries, not runes.

If you don't go all def or all off, then Math tells me that defensive runes and offensive masteries are the better combo

Depends on the champion entirely, and the matchup top lane.

For Malphite, I take armor per-level seals and quints, armor marks, and armor glyphs..Forget MR entirely -- I only lock this page in against AD-heavy enemy teams with no magic damage.

For Malphite when the enemy has magic damage, I just run a standard armor Marks/seals/quints, with MR glyphs. rather than scale, I build for early-game safety and build MR as I go into late game.

It's always gonna depend on the champion top lane, both yourself, and the opponent/enemy team.
