Maining Veigar

I may not have enough experience to make my opinion matter much but take I from me. Don't get greedy in earlie game or you will play catchup for the rest of the match. What is everyone's ways of avoiding the greed trap when playing Veigar?

You just don't follow low health enemies too far, depends on the situation

Just things to note:

1)avoid following them to their jungle 2)do not pursue if enemies once nearby are missing 3)avoid pursuit when alone, unless you can quickly kill and run 4)remember League is not about the kills, its about objectives. Enemies are but 300g, more or less, you can easily farm a wave to make up that gold, and gain Q stacks. 5)Veigar is extremely weak early Keep in mind Veigar is very squishy and when caught out, is usually a dead short lil guy.

Definitely #2 and #3. Veigar is all about burst. Focus on making your rotation count, and learn to cut your losses if you don't get them in one rotation. If you fail a rotation, just take it as an opportunity to farm your Q while the enemy has to be pushed out of lane.

See and thats my issue! I always get them down to a sliver of health during earlie game and for some reason instead O pulling back I get myself lunched lol! But man, once he farmed properly I've had my R hit for 2k easy! I cant believe some folks call him weak and worthless!

Poke down your enemy until you are SURE they will die under your spell rotation. Play passively unless an opportunity comes up, poke with Q occasionally while farming, and autoattack for poke also. Pre level 6, avoid using Q just for poking, last hit a minion with it and poke the enemy simultaneously.

For me, I poke the enemy down to ~700 health and then I go all in with EWRQ, if they have high MR, throw in an ignite

Veigar is extremely weak early game, so you must be very careful. Late-mid game is Veigar's prime.

Veigar is actually a weak champion at high elo, because players know how to deal with him. However, at our level, they don't know how and just call Veigar op >.< Sustained damage people have been stupid enough to keep fighting me after I failed a rotation on them.... allowing me to autoattack them or Q them to death >.<
