Hit 50% W/R, Silver V ~68 LP

So, I recently hit Silver after climbing very quickly from Bronze 3 to Silver V in only two days or so. I've finally evened out my wins losses, so I'm wondering.. Is this my actual MMR/elo/Rank now? Or will I keep rising if I truly am a gold player? I don't expect to hit gold by the end of the season but I've been climbing rapidly after taking serious consideration into my champ pool and my attitude towards the game, so I'm wondering, if I actually am High Silver and I'm just not there yet? What will happen as I gain a positive win rate, is that when I potentially start jumping divisions?

I'm confused and I only ask because I saw someone else with a 50% W/R and they were Platinum, so like... how exactly does this work?

Your overall W/L rate doesn't matter. You have a hidden MMR score. Certain MMR scores correspond to certain divisions; let's say for the sake of argument that Silver V corresponds to 1000 MMR. As you win games, you gain some LP and some MMR. As you lose games, you lose some MMR.

Your MMR doesn't always stay even with your division. For example, you're in Silver V but maybe your MMR is only 800. If that's the case, you will continue to play ranked games with other 800 MMR players (who are like Bronze II, let's say). If your MMR is lower than the amount that belongs in your division, you'll gain a bit less LP than normal on your wins. This is because the system's trying to let your MMR catch up. You'll also lose more LP than normal.

If your MMR was 1200, you'd experience the opposite effect. Wins would get you extra LP because you're playing with Silver III level players and the system wants you to catch up so that your MMR and division match. In extreme cases, if your MMR has far outpaced your division, you'll skip over a division upon promotion.

Pretty much what megaman said, simplified, yes. When your w/l becomes positive it means your skill and rating is above your opponents on average. to try to get you back to 50% it will pit you against tougher opponents and your lp will see much larger increases per win, and smaller losses during this time until you are back to 50/50, at which point it will resume the crawl.
