What to focus on?

I had put this in help and support, however I seem to have posted in the wrong place, so I'll re post here.

Hello everyone, I'm Giatsulore. I've been playing League off and on for a while now, am currently lvl 17, and somewhat hoping to go pro. I do have a team in the making, however, all the potential members are very low level at the moment(The lowest level being around lvl 6, the Highest being myself).

So the question I have is, should I focus on teaching the other members of my team the basics, and what I know so far, and we all learn the rest as a team, or should I be focusing on getting to level 30 for ranked matching, so I can teach them even more?

I personally have a decent understanding of the game, I know how to teach others, but the problem is, when teaching myself, I fall short. I watch videos of others playing, and I can sometimes see how they do things, but then I get into a match, and try to replicate it, with very little success. I'm decently knowledgeable with many different items, however still do not know all the items, normally just sticking to a build, and rarely branching from it. I know the summoner spells, no help needed there.

And can anyone give me pointers on how to teach my team not to just stand idlely in lane (I've told them many times to click around to make it harder to get hit, but I'm not sure they understand what I'm saying, even though I've shown them what It looks like when they do it right)

Thats a tough one chief. If I were you i would focus on leveling yourself up and let them learn on their own. Everyone plays different but yes there is a "meta" that everyone is supposed to follow but its one of those "rules were made to be broken" kinda things in some aspects. I know you think you know alot about the game but there will be much more you will learn as you go along, example: team comps, rotations. some things that I still to learn about. But keep at it and everything will fall in line. youll met more people along the way as well and you migh tbe able to get them on a team. So just focus on buffing out your mistakes you make now and focus on mechanics. youll be at 30 before you know it. best of luck.

Oh if theyre personal friends, by all means help them out. haha its better if you all grow as a team so when you play on a ranked team together, everything will feel smooth and youll be used to each others gameplay. thats one of the hardest things about ranked team play. Finding synergy throught a whole team is hard to find but what everyone works towards.
