I need tips on how to die less.

Hi there

I've been playing League for about 4 months now. Recently (about a month ago) I started playing ranked because my friends wanted me to. While I enjoyed normal games more, I gave it a shot anyways. Went 4-6 in placement matches and got into Silver 5. This came as a shocker to my friends who are still around bronze 2/3 -ish although they were playing way before me.

At first I thought I was a "better" player than my friends. Boy was I wrong, check my match history and see how badly I feed the team. Honestly, my "bronze" friends go positive in the normal games we play AND win the game. And here I am, who got lucky in his placement matches and goes 1/9 in games. I'm not the guy who cares about KDA, but they definitely contribute to the game, atleast in low ELOs. I know I can make better plays, but I just don't know how.

I ward, I check mini-map, its just, everyone in the team is so out of position, but the enemy team is always banded together. The enemy team roam and take down towers one by one. Whereas our team scatter about, one getting drake, another going off to farm, another splitpushing. I swear 90% of the games in this ELO is won just by grouping up and having some map awareness. And by no means am I blaming my team. I want to know how to die less. I feel like I'm trying to save my team mates by assisting them, but if I try to help, I get killed too (as I said, the enemies group up, we don't). And even though this is "soloQ" it IS a team effort. But I feel like I'm overprotective of everyone, thus in the end I die when I try to help them, and they die as well :(

TL;DR: Please look at my score, builds, runes, masteries and criticize me and tell me how should I improve and die less in games. I see many players carrying themselves out of low ELOs with less than 5 deaths. Me on the other hand, a failure. Amumu

I would also like if some ppl added me, maybe you can see where I go right/wrong in my gameplays. I need help.

dont be greedy, let the opponents make the mistakes they will make plenty dont go for the "plays" and dont over stay.

I think you have figured out the problem on your own.

You are over protective of your team. I know those feelings, but sometimes it's just better off to run and not even engage in a battle that you know will end up with your team being aced.

I still find myself making the mistake of trying to save a teammate at times, even when i know i will die, usually when i play support. Other times i run for the hills and don't look back and just smack my head wondering what these people are thinking.

Basically, all you control is your actions, no matter how much you ping "WARNING" there will always be players who don't listen or don't care. It's a sad truth but we have to live with it and try to make the best of those outcomes later on.

You probably just go too aggressive when there's no way you'll actually kill them. It's better to just poke and make them B than go all in at a disadvantage for a risky kill. You might not be warding out far enough either; putting them really close might not give enough warning for a fast jungler.

You should look for a high Gold+ coach.

I think I should just stop playing once I lose twice in a row. I mean now and then I have really good games, but I notice once I starting losing, it doesn't stop. I'll alternate between other game modes :P

1 - Ward a lot. 2 - Upgrade your trinket. (its only 250g) 3 - If your enemy laner is going agressive all of a sudden, just back, don't fight him because his jungler is probably coming. 4 - Don't chase someone WITHOUT vision, even if hes low. 5 - If you play mid/adc, hide yourself before a teamfight so their assassins don't jump on you right away. People tend to chase a low hp player in a teamfight but you should let your frontline chase, you have to position yourself in safe way and stay near your support.

Are you dying in lane, or just when trying to help your team? Here's what I saw when I had to climb from my Silver 4 placements:

Why low elo players die:

Staying in lane (usually behind turret) with 100hp or less while the enemy is pushing the minion wave in. This is just asking for a tower dive... and your death. Better to just go back to base, even if you miss cs.

Trying to duel a strong enemy when you are weaker. Repeatedly. Farming properly is better than looking for kills all the time.

Going into fights one by one against a grouped enemy. This lack of coordination just makes it super easy for the enemy to win the game.

Defending a turret alone against 3-5 enemies. Again, asking for a tower dive. It's ok to let turrets fall if you can't defend it.

Leaving their lane to "help" a teammate being ganked by 3+ enemies. Unless your whole team is grouped to help, you need to be selfish and let them die. Get an objective (turret, dragon, buffs) to punish the enemy.

** Leaving lane to contest dragon** from enemies with/without your jungler. I'm talking about 1-2 people trying to fight 4-5 enemies. It's better to just let them have dragon than give them kills on top of that. If your jungler is trying to smite steal, let him go alone. If your jungler is dead, don't try to get dragon.

I recommend downloading replay software (I use SkinSpotlights Replay) and watching your replays.

I'm always looking for people to play with.
