Early laning phase with vayne
Any general tips on pre-6 laning with vayne? I feel like until then it's safer to just afk farm and not try to make plays. Want to be able to dominate early on and set myself up for the lvl 6 spike.

Contrary to popular belief, Vayne has a pretty strong laning phase. Farming passively is one of the worst things you can do on Vayne because even though she is strong in trades, she's also susceptible to getting poked down due to having low range and no skillshot abilities.
You want to trade with your lane opponent actively between CS using your tumble (unless they have a Soraka, Sona, Nami, Graves, Draven, or Lucian - people with a lot of sustain and/or burst who can quickly out trade you).
Once you hit level 3 you can actually do a lot of damage with an auto + Q + E trade because it procs your silver bolts and it also kicks your opponent away to prevent them from trading with you more. Use smart positioning and timing to chip away at your opponent. Also- you should only use your E in damage trades when you've got vision on river because if a gank comes while your E is on cooldown, you're dead.
As much as I hate to say so, don't. Vayne has a very weak early game and a mediocre level 6 powerspike. If you want to dominate with Vayne early, Farm. Her q and w are amazing for last-hitting, which will allow you to hit your first real powerspike (Blade of the Ruined King) after which you will be able to dual basically anyone in the game.
That said, while Vayne cannot dominate lane in the way that someone like Xerath can, her high damage output will allow you to punish mistakes.
A few things to do are:
Because Vayne has no means to poke, she must rely on catching her opponents out, comboing them, and running for getting her opponents low earlygame. However, after she has BORK, she can look to all-in the enemy ADC, and must only be concerned about the enemy support.
The one exception to this that i have seen is when you are against a Kalista. In this matchup, Provided that your support can keep their support from locking you down, you can all in Kalista post 6 pretty effectively due to the fact that Kalista's attacks will miss if they are in the air while Vayne stealths. Despite this advantage, Vayne is completely reliant on outplaying her opponents, so the most important thing to remember with Vayne is the principal of charity; always assume that your opponent is good at League of Legends and will be able to beat you if you are not completely aware of what they are capable of.
TL;DR Vayne can outtrade most ADC's as long as she is opportunistic about her trades and does not try to look for a trade whenever possible because Vayne is extremely squishy and will die most of the times she gets caught.
