Typical Whiny Thread About Ranked (But would appreciate some help)

So I'm playing my provisionals. I'm 6 games in and right now I hate ranked. I've lost 5 games and won one only because a Yasuo carried me. What I want to know is this: will it be always be this bad? I've no idea what's going wrong. Is it my fault I'm losing these games? I'm willing to take the blame for some things, but I ward. I gank my lanes as best as I can. I try to be nontoxic. I try to contest objectives. Is it the champions I'm playing? Do I need to be playing FoTM champions to win? Or perhaps my decision making is just awful. I don't know.

I guess what I really want is some advice. I don't mind being placed in bronze. I belong there for now. I'd just appreciate any tips because I can't seem to carry hard enough.

Thanks.

PS: I'm sort of writing this to vent my frustration. I get some people have been in Bronze in forever, but, so far, my ranked experience has been downright discouraging.

If you "hate" playing ranked because of a 1-5 record, I would posit a mentality shift is in order. You need to not focus on whether you are winning or losing, so much as you are improving as a player. Set goals for yourself. As a jungler, it should be things like "Get a successful gank mid pre-6" "secure the first dragon" "have more farm than my opposing jungler" "successfully counter-jungle one buff" etc (keep in mind that some of these are partly exclusionary and that it is best to focus mostly on one aspect at a time. You can't be a heavy ganker and a heavy farmer at the same time for example)

I know it's a bit of a plug, but you might also watch this video (only 4 minutes long) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEKi_9zumIU Also, I would recommend watching some Foxdrop and Trick2g. Foxdrop is exceptional at teaching you how to create pressure through kills that translate into objectives, while Trick2g is exceptional at overall objective control without worrying to much about picking up kills.

Last kind of minor point: you've got to keep in mind that no matter how much you complain or blame your teammates for your inhibitions, in the end, the only person you can really change is you. Focus on your own game-play and work with the team your given, since no matter how sucky they are, they are what you've got.

Well Noct is pretty weak atm, Rek'sai beats him pretty much across the board. Idunno, can't say too much from this, its not showing kills or objectives -_-

2 giant stomps, geez, not really anything you can do about a 1/33 game... gj on getting that kill btw.

So: No, it won't. It sounds like this is your first time playing ranked so you have not placed before. You are put through Provisionals so the system can find out where to place you; it does this every season for every account. You play various games, and frequently people of various skill levels. However, you have not placed in ranked before so, if what I am told is correct, the system has less of an idea of where you should go so you would face more variance in matches. Even if this is not accurate, after a time your play experience should even out either way.

As for tips, since you asked, I looked you up. Here's three things you should do: First, you are not doing yourself any favours by playing without glyphs; personally I think you should fix that before playing ranked. The second is to take that point out of Unyielding on your 21/9/0 Jungler pages and put it into Juggernaut, it's better. You aren't going to be taking much Champion damage as a jungler when Unyielding would be of use, you have the required Veteran's Scar points already, and Juggernaut is useful throughout the game. Third, you should take the points out of Block and put them elsewhere for the same reason as Unyielding.
