Is your Udyr a BOOdyr?

Hello everyone. This is more-or-less a guide to something nasty I recently cooked up. I like to call it "BOOdyr" because when you gank, you make the laner shit their pants. So let's get started then

Overall the common BOOdyr build consists of some pretty specific stuff. Here's what I normally build in order:

item 3710 This is obviously for the attack speed and magic damage on-hit, however you take Chilling Smite because it helps ganking lanes immensely and there's no need for an AOE stun-smite when you'll be farming champions

item 3284 I will often get back from a long farm after getting devourer, and I'll normally have a pretty fat wallet. Now, the placement of this and Triforce can be switched, but if I have enough for this early on, I'll take it to improve ganks and secure more kills to get more stacks on Devourer as well as picking up more money for items and wards

item 3078 This item is pretty much on almost every Udyr build, so obviously I'm going to include it as it synergizes with the theme of the build

item 3091 This item works really well with Devourer, applying a ton of magic damage per auto. Not to mention it drastically increases damage from your Phoenix Stance as it steals MR from hitting the enemy

item 3172 If you thought you were 2fast2cool before Zephyr, wait until you pick this bad boy up. You'll be the fastest motherfucker on the Rift, and you'll have mad cooldowns. This also helps with teamfights or duels as CC won't affect you nearly as much

item 3153 Lastly, I like to pick up Blade of the Ruined King for a number of reasons. First off, just in case you couldn't catch someone, you'll catch them (or run away from them) even faster with a movespeed steal. The provided lifesteal helps with sustain and obviously you'll be doing more damage.

item 3115 Instead of Blade of the Ruined King, you could try and pick this guy up. By this point you'll have even more stacks on your Devourer, so you'll be doing magic damage 4days. On top of that, you'll have some baller as fuck CDR

Skill Order

Normally I'll take Phoenix Stance (R) first and take out Gromp. A good trick is to have your Phoenix stance ready right away, so when Gromp spawns, you can auto, shooting the Phoenix flame passive dealing bonus damage, and then cast Phoenix stance again to get another flame immediately after, dealing a lot of damage and melting down Gromp early.

Next, I like to get Turtle Stance (W) for survivability when taking Blue buff after Gromp

3rd, depending on how lanes are doing, I'll either take another point in Phoenix Stance, or my first point in Bear Stance (E). Typically Bear Stance is used for ganking because of the stun and movespeed.

I max Phoenix first at my earliest convinience, and then I max Bear Stance soon after. Personally, I don't take tiger stance until roughly Level 10 when it helps take down towers in a short amount of time. Max Turtle or Tiger last depending on your preference

So that's my guide! It's worked for me really well when I came up with it, and I hope it works well for you too. Good luck, and see you on the Rift!

Who else thought this was a post about why your laners yell at you when you play Udyr, and what you can do about getting better as him?

Frozen heart, Omen, and magic resist beats the build not to mention its squishy and easy to blow up.
