Actual Patch Notes 5.18

Hey guys, this is basically a quick run through of the patch notes for people like me who think what the fuck does this all mean when they look through it. As well I tried including some strategies to help cope with the new changes in the patch.

Champions

Anivia - E can do double damage to baron and dragon if you slow them with your skills to let you take those epic dragon/baron steals!

Braum - NERFED. No more spamarinos of that Q. Now you have to make sure to land all Q's and make something out of it.

Caitlyn - KOOKIE FUCKING SPOOKS FOR DAYS! Cupcakes have reduced cooldown and mana costs so be sure to put them all over lane to trap them yordles. The reduced mana will allow you to not worry about not having enough mana in lane to poke down the enemy adc with your Q's or using your E's to escape from incoming ganks.

Darius - Better sustain late game, but got nerfed for the laning phase. No more spamming Q to poke down the enemy since Q's mana cost has been increased, so try to make sure that you use Q effectively instead of spamming Q's to farm waves. It is now more important to catch enemy on the edge of the Q range for maximum poke.

Elise - Spiders do less damage. Makes it harder for Elise early game, so try to share aggro with spiders from now on to make them last longer and let them do more damage.

Ezreal - AD ratio added for Arcane Shift. Adcs now can use arcane shift to do damage since it now scales on AD, but it is a small ratio and it scales on BONUS ATTACK DAMAGE so it doesn't really increase the damage by much. So be careful when it comes to deciding whether to use Arcane Shift or not.

Fiora - Nerfed. Less base armour, health, and health per level. Weaker early game so play a little bit more passive. Other fixes are just general fixes. Try to build Fiora a little tankier from now on to compensate for the lack of stats. item 3742 is a good idea since it gives health, armour and movement speed, perfect to let Fiora gank. As well it applies an on hit effect which works with Fiora's Q.

Galio - Baby wheels applied. Can't move during the first 0.25 seconds of his ult if he hits an enemy with it. For those people that always double click by accident.

Garen - Bug Fixes

Gangplank - Nerfed. Barrels do less damage and pen reduced to 40%. Still an effective poke tool, just do a little less.

J4 - Gained 2 base armour. Goes from reduces 22% of incoming damage to 23% of incoming damage. Trust me, I did the math....

Lulu - Less health. Weaker, but passive now procs spellthief's edge so it's based on how well you can dodge skill shots and land those auto attacks.

Mordekaiser - Nerfed. Less base armour, increased armour per level. Weaker during laning phase, and has 0.38 less armour at max level. W does more damage, but now has a health cost, heals less and drains from 1 less target. This nerfs the duo laning phase mordekaiser, and it makes it harder to solo lane morde since the health cost and reduced healing will hurt your solo lane sustain.

Morgana - Buffed (Finally). Q costs less mana so feel free to use it more.

Skarner - Tiny Nerfed. E slow has been reduced. Not much else change just a little harder to engage onto enemies.

Syndra - Buffed (seriously why does she need this?). 13 more mana per level. Seriously why does she need this?... she has a click to kill ult so why should we let her ult more?

Tahm Kench - Fixes to gameplay to make it smoother. Devour on smartcast now if you use tongue lash. Thick skin now works for colourblind mode (Good for you Riot).

Twitch - Buff. Stealth now takes 4.5 seconds to come up if you are taking damage instead of 6. This will help Twitch survive way more since the stealth will come up more. BUY PINK WARDS

Veigar - Major buff. Q now gains stacks on assists in addition to kills (Seriously why does he need more AP? We need a thornmail, but for AP). W now has smoother animation reducing the cast time and cooldown by 0.25 seconds making it harder to dodge.

Zyra - Clarity. Plants attack the target Zyra has last attacked now.

Items

Devourer/Sated Enchant - Reduced the bonus magic damage per stack from 1 to 0.67 and Sated now does 50 per hit instead of 60. Attack speed jungles now do less damage so build tankier in my opinion, but not much has changed since the on-hit effect still applies twice every second auto attack.

Warrior Enchant - 5 more ad. Enough said.

Zeke's Harbringer - Less armour, but makes it easier to activate. Good item for a heavy AD/Attack speed comp since it gives crit. Mainly Yasuo and Yi.

Dead Man's Plate - Clarity. Lulu's W is a slow, Dead Man's Plate just didn't know. Now it does.

General Fixes

Missile fix - Sometimes missiles disappear. Riot built a machine that finds these lost missiles. No more invisible Nid spears.

Howling Abyss Recall Animations - Spam Pool Party Renektons Recall Animation on Howling Abyss (or any other skin specific recall animations, it's allowed now).

HUD updates - They made it prettier?

Not much else that's important. Hopefully you guys found this useful, if not good thing you didn't read to this part and waste all your time. If anyone still has any questions feel free to check out my stream...yes this is a shameless self promotion :)

Just a comment on Syndra...I'm guessing by your comments that you don't main Syndra. Without Athene's/Tear (commonly you just want to build Morello), she has severe mana problems all game long, and even with Athene's the mana can get strained sometimes. She's underperforming at the moment, and I think this is a really good way to give her a little love. Also, it doesn't help her much in the early levels, so there's no risk of turning her back into the lane bully she once was.
