im having issues in the top lane, mainly against one champ in particular, tryndamere. i main irelia/shyvana up top and i am decent at both up top. i usually just build triforce and blade of ruin king depending if i play irelia or shyvana and hten i just build pure tank from there. but my issue is that i cant win or stay in lane with a trynd, i just get destroyed all the time and i end up feeding all the time. even when i play passive i just cant do anything to that damn trynd. i need advice. telling me just stay away from him wont really help cuz that just means im letting him farm, get fed without contest. i dont really depend on jungle ganks cuz i normally never get them, even when i ask. i need advice on what i can do about him. honestly ive been told that trynd really sucks and is easy to kill, but i think thats a load of bull cuz i just cant win, ever. perhaps some of you know how to counter him or find him really easy to deal with, let me know what you do and how you do it and maybe i can learn something, maybe some videos on some good irelia/shyvana top laners would be a good start if you would like to share. anything will help at this point because i cant play top like this. also im not sure if this is where the thread is supposed to be made but here goes. oh, and thanks for any advice you guys are willing to share with me. also if possible maybe some of you can friend me and perhaps let me practice how i can deal with trynd. thanks

Generally speaking.

One..... Two..... Ignite's on you.

Seriously, when Tyrnd ults, count out ~2 seconds, then ignite and walk away. Of course, if you are running TP, it gets a lot more difficult to deal with his ulti.

As Irelia, you probably want to start cloth+4+1. Before lvl 4 you are going to have to play passively, E+auto him if you see a decent chance, but don't commit to a fight unless he makes a MAJOR blunder. (Takes tower shots, or chases you into a large creep wave) Post-4, if he uses his rage to heal you should be able to win a trade, but will likely not 100-0 unless he commits to the fight himself. If you think you can last long enough, try noit to to activate your ulti or Q until the debuff from his W wears off.

Shyvana's a bad pick against Tryndamere because she's forced to all-in to fight...and Tryndamere wins those.

Irelia's an okay pick, but you'll typically need to build good defensive items (Randuin's/Ninja Tabi/etc).

Avoid fighting Trynd if he has rage. Rage = crits. Crits = surprise, you're dead. If you can force him away from farm or use all his rage to heal, he's very weak.

Tryndamere is really annoying to lane against i feel your pain my friend ive never had good luck against a trynd except on nasus and teemo nasus beacuse i just froze the lane at my tower and if he came up to farm he got a heafty Q with teemo i kept my dot on him constantly so that he had to keep healing with his rage and if he ever came in i would blind him and gigle my way away

Part of what makes Tryndamere such a strong champion is his ultimate, along with his passive fury... Ranged champions are always a good way to go, but there are some good melees that counter him pretty hard. He relies heavily on basic attacks, so of you grab some armor right off the bat, then it will slow him down a bit. As soon as he hits level 6 though, you should play passively until you can get him to blow his ultimate. Like JJI744 said, ignite is a really good way to get past his ult.

Watch his rage bar. The more full it is, the more attack speed + crit chance he gets.

Pay attention to when his ultimate is up or when he uses is.

Don't use your escape abilities until after he uses his spin. Since he's so basic attack heavy, he's not going to do much damage if he can't reach you.

Try playing Jax a bit, see how he works with your play style... Jax's E blocks basic attacks, so it would be really useful against a basic attack heavy champion if used correctly, Plus he has really good escape.

You have the same problem that I used to have. You're boxing yourself into playing only certain champions. I see that some other commenters have given you tips on how to lane against Tryndamere as Irelia and/or Shyvana. So I wont do that. What I will do is suggest that you expand your champion pool. Once I did that, I started to win a LOT more.

So pick some more champions to play so that you can prepare for any situation. Learn Jax, for example, to counter Tryndamere. Learn Malphite, for playing against heavy AD enemy teams, learn Nasus for farming lanes againt champions like Singed.

I'm not saying you need to learn 10 champions. I limit myself to 6. But those 6 prepare me for anything.
