Help me choose a champion that I can play in multiple lanes

Hi there! I'm a returning player, hoping to improve and enjoy the game. I'm rather overwhelmed by the plethora of champions in the game at the moment. It's simply not possible for me to get good at ALL of them.

What I'd like to do is focus on one or two for a while, until I feel comfortable with them. But my question is, which champion (or champions) can be played in a variety of lanes and roles? For example, if I decided I wanted to just play Corki for a month, could I go top, mid, or bot with him?

My goal is to support the team I'm with, no matter my role, but limit my champion pool so I can actually improve.

Thanks.

Jayce can play top, maybe do ok in jg (never tried it or heard of it), and, if you ever play with bronze or people below lvl 30, he can ADC, although not at all advised for real games. While he has great damage, he simply isn't an ADC, he is a fighter, leaning on the damage side.

Also, Quinn can be top or bot, and is an ADC. Use a Critical Strike build and Defensive build too (i believe. I don't actually play quinn). And Rengar can be jg, which your team might prefer sometimes, but does great top.

Pick Lulu or Teemo. They can literally be played anywhere and people will fear you. Yordles OP.

Vel'koz- Support/Mid. Jarvan 4- Jungle,Top,Supp Swain-Top/Mid Cassiopeia- Top/mid Karma- Top/Mid Sion- Top/Jungle/Support Xin zhao- Top/Jungle Nidalee- Top/Jungle/Mid/Support (Very mediocre support) Pantheon- Top/Jungle Zyra - Mid/Support Morgana - Top/Mid/Support Lissandra - Top/Mid/Support

Those are some of the better picks for multiple roles at the moment. (Off the top of my head) If you have any questions or want some strategy for any of them I'd be happy to help.

which champion (or champions) can be played in a variety of lanes and roles?

Kayle

Most versatile champ in the game, can play her as a top, jungle, mid, or support without being called out for trolling. Used to be able to play her as a marksman, but she's weak enough at that it's questionable (in rift - she's a solid marksman in Dominion and Treelines where range gets crapped on).

Her build is litterally the same thing in any lane as any position as well, which makes things easy. You get to be APC/ADC/Support with the same AS/AP build.

Other than that - if you're looking at flexibility and a kit that can adapt, any champion with 7 abilities rather than 4 is going to offer a solid 3 lanes they can pull off. LeeSin Nidalee Lulu Elise Jayce Gnar

You actually need to build differently depending on the lane more often than not here though. They have flexibility in their direction, but they don't get to maintain doing everything well into overtime like Kayle. You need to itemize for it. Lee Sin will be an assassin, fighter, or tank based on his itemization for instance - he won't be all 3 at once after a certain point.

I'd also strongly recommend staying away from champions nobody's exactly sure on where to put them.

Some people usually recommend champions like Teemo Gangplank Galio in such topics because those champions are seen in a wide range of lanes.

But those champions are seen in a wide range of lanes more because they're terrible and everyone's trying to figure out what lane they should go in rather than those champions actually being really flexible and good to the point they can go anywhere, which makes them the exact opposite of what you're looking for.

TLDR: Kayle

I greatly appreciate all the info. I looked into all the suggestions and compared it to what my friends were saying, and I'm going to give Nidalee a solid shot. She hits a lot of marks for me: Mixed damage so it's hard to negate her; a bit of a heal; a mix of range and melee; no long cooldown ultimate.

I can already tell I'm going to need a LOT of muscle memory, but if I can make it work I should be useful to a team in almost any role. Thanks!
