Best role to carry low MMR Season 5?
I've been playing support against my better judgement in soloque and I've lost the last billion games in a row, what role would be better suited to carrying the team?

top or mid, cause adc sorta relies on your team not feeding early game.
I was about to give you a bunch of advice for getting out of low elo... then I noticed you were gold. I don't consider gold low elo since the people there generally have an idea of what they're supposed to do and do it. Other then that, if you want to carry yourself higher, I'd suggest either Mid, Jungle, or, if you have a reliable duo for support, ADc. Those are the roles that have the most impact on the game in different ways. ... Or, if you want to just solo split push your way to up the ladder, you can always go top. Since the support role is about setting things up for the rest of your team to win, I'd avoid that unless you have a duo you can trust to make use of the opportunities you provide.

When I started ranked i was placed into silver. From support role I was able to move from silver to plat 1
But for one person to carry a team it is not a easy feat do pull off. I would reccomend to pick some snowballer. Jungle, Top, Mid. Carrying team frm the ADC position is pretty hard as it requires hell a lot of skill. It might be easyier to carry the team from support position as annie, velkoz, morgana or something along that line. Though for that you would need to pick a right fights and make right engagements.
In the end it all comes to your skill.
Just pick Yi with smite and TP to jungle and split push yor enemy to hell.
40% of challengers are ADC mains. Think about that.
Mid is generally the strongest carry potential (imo). But that's just on average, it's not a rule. Do Team Builder as each of the other roles for a while and find what you're looking for by experiencing it.

There is no thing such as having a lane or role to carry yourself out of the elo, it all has to do with personal experience and the way how you in person play this game.
what I did was play 5 games as each hero in each role. The role that fits your playstyle is the best since unlike dota (which I also play and am alot higher rank than LoL) there is no position that has a massive gold leader over others. For example as a mid or hard carry in dota I can have triple the gold of the other 3 positions but in LoL even the support can have like eg. 12k while rest has 15-17k at end.
tl;dr playstyle is more of a factor than role, for example I am amazing as mid with above 60% winrate and a terrible toplander with sub 40%
I've found that if you're good at tanks then jungling and top are good carry positions. Tank meta is strong and good tanks can win games.
Lategame you'll carry as an ADC or a scaling APC like Azir
Early/Midgame you can carry as an assassin or jungler.
Best role to carry consistently from is probably jungler because you can pick one that scales well like Amumu and still gank enough to get your team ahead early. Low elo isn't smart enough to invade and punish scaling junglers so they win a lot.

Thanks for the help guys, I figured I'd give top a go and was able to get a win. I think I'll do that for a bit until I'm at a safe enough mmr that I can support again.
Tanky dps champs are best for climbing
Assassins and Marksmen are the best for carrying teams i think. If you can kill their team before they kill yours then your teams skill will matter a little less.
Not bottom because that lane has a heavy reliance on the team and you also have to share your lane with a potential trash player from the Bronze slums, and probably not jungle because it's significantly harder this season.
Top is the easiest because you're generally going to be a manly enough champion to shrek their team and get out alive, Mid is fine too if you're actually any good at Assassins, which is a rare skill at low Elo or they'd be higher.
Fiora, Riven and Jarvan.
Put these champs in Mid, Top (or jungle for that one guy who flag-n-drags his way to free money) and get tiamat.
Once you have that, your opponent is just alive until they step off their turret too far when your ult's up.
After you win that lane, you poop out damage on everything else. Especially their jungler since they don't have the luxury of getting heavy armor when the jungle still whips their butts.
And bot lane in low mmr?
