ughhhhhh i honestly think thresh is over rated as an agressive support

thresh shines at disengage/peel

get your lantern and flay game up then worry about the hooks

Flay first,then hook.

Also, walk towards one enemy then aim hook at another,as you don't turn when winding it up,you can confuse them that way.

Yeah, thresh is one of those fun champions who has something nifty on every ability tab. To truly "master" his hook, you should try to aim for where you think the enemy is going to go. First person shooter experience actually helps huge with this, as if you can "lead your shot" you can do wonders. Thresh

A little tip i got from watching a video. If the target you want to hook is hiding behind low hp minion press q right before it dies, usually before the react the hook it's too late.

Most of it is guessing/ predicting where they are going to be. Look for opportunities. Don't know how many times I'd be walking away from an AA or a flay and they start to chase me, and threw the hook for a hit. Do not throw a hook every time it's off cd, only throw it when you're pretty sure you can get it to land, you use way too much mana that way.

It also helps if your in the fog of war or in a brush. Just keep practicing you'll get it. Trust me, I'm also a Thresh main.
