Creating A More Friendly Community

Hello there, I am Ross, also known as Basedgod Ross. I have been playing League of Legends for about two years, and I have noticed over the couple years I have been playing that the community is outstanding, but there are a few trolls or people that try to make the game less enjoyable by making fun or being nasty to their fellow team mates or competition. This is a game, and we are a community. Please be courteous to fellow summoners and try to guide them to make them better players instead of calling them bad and ruining their experience, they just need a few hints! You can help by giving them a few hints as the specific champion they're playing or just by suggesting what to build. After you learn how to build, the game suddenly becomes a lot easier, and soon after it just becomes champion mechanics. I am not even Silver V, and I enjoy helping people lower levels than me build their experience and enjoy the game by giving them simple pointers. Let's make this game enjoyable for new learners, and continue to be the great community we have built for ourselves. Happy League-ing,

                  - Basedgod Ross ![Alistar](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.11.1/img/champion/Alistar.png)

If you would like to add me on friends to get tips or just to play a few mess-around games, go right ahead.

This only works if the person is open to listening to those hints. Can't tell you how many times I've tried to give friendly advice to someone and they just replied with "stfu" "don't tell me how to play" "I don't care" or other rudeness.

I'd like to add you~ I'm new and have gotten bashed on from just trying normal PvP (because you know, bots all day isn't fun and they're really bad lategame since they don't have much team coordination).

Ignoring mean ppl and trying to find the lighter side of the community :3

I say you are wrong about 90% of what you said.

Outstanding isn't exactly the word I would use to describe the LoL community. And it's more than you make it out to be that are toxic in how they communicate with one another. But the message of your thread is still good. We do need to treat our newbie players better. Everyone starts somewhere and there is a lot of information to digest and so it is often a long road before someone becomes "decent" at this game. I played bots exclusively for nearly 2 years before I went into PvP. Even then I eased into it by playing ARAM a whole lot. Then I started to play some normals and actually I'm not that bad. But most people don't want to wait that long before entering PvP so they have a period of playing and making mistakes left and right only to have their mistakes exploited by the enemy team. It can be draining and more so when the players in the game berate you for it. It doesn't help that making a new account to learn PvP in a more positive environment isn't really possible due to the immense presence of smurf players down there. So everyone has to start somewhere. And they won't get better by not playing so just don't berate them and offer your help if you notice anything that could improve their game play.
