Hi guys,

I just reached level 30.I started playing ranked, which it may be a mistake.I won my first 4 games,I played with very good teammates and obvioulsy the carried the game. The next two,I had to play agains a platinum guy with Irelia and honestly, I did not know almost what game I was playing. The difference farming, the objects, there is a lot of difference.I'm not still sure about the objects, the runes,I just have 170 victories so,what should I do?Continue playing normal matches til I get a good level for ranked?Any tip would be very welcome,I really want to get a good level, but is difficult if I play against players much much better than me.

You are supposed to use spaces after punctuation.

You should continue to play normal games. Here's what I tell most people:

Become aware of every role. Play all the roles, top, mid, jungle, support, ADC. This will give you an idea of what each role deals with. Once you go through each (which you could've done in the grind to 30), you want to pick a handful of champions within that role that you LOVE playing. I'd say two or three at most. Master these champions, read up anything you can on them and get good at these champions, this will get you far (and you'll have fun doing it in the process).

You also need to learn how to last hit. With the champions you like, open up a custom game and play without runes or masteries for 10 minutes, with or without bots, with no items. Attempt to get the killing blow on the minions in your lane, and aim to get 100 creep score by the 10 minute mark, that's the perfect score I believe.

For runes and masteries, good choices are: Armor, MR, Health, and AP/AD. These are good runes to have, but if you know what champions you enjoy playing, here: http://champion.gg/

Click on the champion you like and the role (if they have multiple positions they can fill), and focus on getting the runes there. The runes pulled from this site are from plat ranking and higher, so they are generally a good idea to start out. Masteries are also in there, as well as what people build item wise and what skills they level. Outside of that, searching for guides on the champions you enjoy will also give you bunch of different perspectives.

Anything outside of that is general advice: Dragon, Towers, Inhibs are more important than kills, generally. Towers give team gold, Dragon gives team wide boost, blah blah, objectives are important. You'll pick up on this over time, but so long as you do everything before this paragraph, you'll be fine so long as you keep playing.

Good luck.

Have some friends play with you in normals and ask players of higher rank to play with you to help you get e feel for higher skilled players that way you're ready for them. Also YouTube vids can help a lot in teaching you about the game and stuff that can help you in those situations.

i would finsh of your placements at this time. If you faced a plat odds are the system is looking to place you around silver or gold. (a random plat in a game tends to mean g4-g3 mmr).

Obviously your normals games are not teaching you want you need to learn if this play style was so advance for you. Might be time to take the hard core cramp session and see if you sink or swim.

Part of the system is that you get placed where you belong. Only plat + players should win all 10 at this point in the season.

Now you can stop playing the game.

Play with and against every champ at least once. There's nothing worse than saying "wow, I didn't know he could do that". If you are unsure, ask your team what to watch out for.

Finish your provisionals. You have a ton of regular wins...you have experience...you undoubtedly know what you're doing.

Here's the thing...if you know the ins and outs of at least three roles....and at least three characters in the roles...while not being absolutely bonehead clueless about the other two...you're fine. Don't let people tell you to not play ranked because you don't have 300 + normal victories etc, etc. If you have the confidence in a few roles and a handful of champs each...you have at least 2 completed basic rune pages....you're fine.

You got paired against a Plat?...that's just...weird. That means your MMR is probably pretty insane...and it's not going to be "fixed" until you finish your provisionals and get placed. You're fine...the first time I ever played ranked into provisionals I had probably 30 normal games and went 3-7....I STILL got put into silver at that point because I KNEW what I was supposed to be doing...even if I didn't have a boat load of on hands experience. You'll be fine...four more games to go and then you can take a step back and assess.
