What ISP you recommend?

I'm thinking of changing my isp cause my current one is just so bad, i get constant lagg spikes and average ms is like 200. Which of the mainstream broadbands are most reliable for gaming i don't really care that much about speed, i care more about reliability.

It depends a lot on where you live and how it was wired. None of the big players are universally bad, unless they're squeezing Netflix for cash or something, but FCC is bringing the hammer down on that.

My experience is fiber beats cable beats DSL. If you're in aa apartment complex, DSL may beat out cable, since the cable line is often overshared and extremely old. All wireless offerings will have terrible latency, even if throughput is good.

generally you dont get to choose your isp. most isps have a monopoly based on the infrastructure where you live. There's something we call a "high barrier to entry" in economics which restricts competition between ISPs due to the high cost of new infrastructure. Currently the government imposes restrictions on ISPs so that they can't abuse their monopoly towards consumers, and most ISPs are really inefficient as a result. There isnt any single ISP that's better than another because of this, it's mostly based on your location and whether the people working there are actually useful human beings.

Maybe in a few decades there will be more competition between ISPs once enough infrastructure has been established but they'll all continue to be pretty crappy until then.
