Okay, so I am currently Silver 3 in ranked solo queue. I know I am capable of getting to Gold 5 this season, I just feel as if I am doing a couple of things wrong and I'd love help with finding them and learning how to overcome them. Champs I feel most comfortable on are: Orianna, Vi, Morgana, Leona, Lee Sin, Ahri and Fizz. I've recently bought Shyvanna and Jayce and will try to master Jayce for top lane ASAP! I usually win my lane when I play ranked, but I feel that no matter how well I play I cannot carry my team. I do roam a lot when i play mid and in jungle I always try to help losing lanes back into the game as well as keep winning lanes winning. I NEVER flame any teammates no matter the situation, I just tell the team to group or catch people out. I tell the team to keep up with the vision control and objective control. Towers > chasing for kills.

TL;DR Please let me know all tips on how to climb out of silver that you can think of. -Syktonic

from the mouth of a diamond to you (not me whose the diamond, im silver 5 lol), there are 2 aspects of this game, luck aspect, skill aspect, no matter how hard you try at times, there be teams you simply can't carry with, it doesn't matter how your team did, as long as you did well, just keep playing and playing to get better. the only thing you can do is keep going for the medal until you finally reach it.

Frankly, there could be a million different reasons why you cannot climb, and given the post, narrowing things down would be pretty difficult. If you have any replays or gameplay videos, i could check them out, or if you add me in-game, I could spectate and get a better idea of where your strengths and weaknesses are.

Since you're currently mid silver, I have some idea of where your problem areas are (CS, time-management, specific match-ups/builds), but I cannot say for certain without seeing you play. Overall, I agree with the others that all you need to do is keep trying to improve, while playing as consistently as possible. Consistency is king :D

I encourage you to check out my page and videos since I may have covered something you are having trouble with:

And again, if you require additional assistance in terms of climbing or improving, send me a message (on FB or in-game), I know I can help! :)

I'll teach you how to climb when I'm on. Just pm me in game.

But general tips for other people to see :

  1. Let your teammates die for their mistakes. It's needless for you to die trying to save them and then both of you dieing.

  2. Don't listen to commands you know are bad such as going into a baron 1v5.

  3. Play very agressive on getting objectives. Something like this : Wining the game > Inihibitors / Towers > Baron > Dragon > Cs > Lane Pressure> Kills

  4. Don't make silly mistakes. If you know you can hit a cs but miss it, shame on you. If you know you can kill the enemy mid laner but misclick or use your skills in a wrong order. Shame on you :P

Minimize these things and you'll easily climb a few ranks.

i think a big part of climbing out of silver is mentality. however, there a few tricks to better your chances.

  1. It's better to go all in on a bad call than to go half-n-half on a good one. ex: its better to 3 man baron after an ace than you push mid and your support and mid duo baron.

  2. /mute all ; is your beat friend and don't type in chat

  3. don't fill in champ select if you are able to play your main, just play it.

basic rules make sure u follow these

Just based on what I've read it seems like you have a rather large champion pool. However, if you haven't mastered all of them, I suggest shrinking that down. I got to Gold purely by playing my best 3 champs, Warwick, Annie, and Caitlyn. Literally nothing else. I am pretty confident I could make it to Plat too if I had more time, but it's almost the end of the season so I am just sitting here at Gold V waiting for the season to end. To show some numbers, I have over 60% win rate on all 3 of those champions in ranked, and have a 62.7% win rate overall (that's like winning 3 games out of every 5).

Knowing a small handful of champs inside and out can really help you carry games. Knowing your champion better than anyone else can open up small but crucial kill opportunities, increase efficiency in farming and moving around, and even eliminate counter-picks. If you know your champion better than the person you are playing against knows how to counter you with the counter-pick, you'll still come out on top. You'll also have a better shot at making comebacks and more often than not, you'll die much less. I know the last one sounds pretty obvious, but not dying is the #1 key to winning games. By not dying, you can farm more, take objectives more often, and create global pressure on the map. Simply by being alive. Crazy to think about, right? I don't have a good way to end my paragraph. I hope you try it out.
