NA moving to EUW... Anything I should know?

Recently found out an old friend played league aswell, but he lives in the Netherlands, and also Diamond 5. He gave me his old smurf, Stratigician, to basically have. Is there anything I should really know about EUW? What's popular, what's not, i.e. Or is it basically the same as NA? First game here and I've gone against an AP Kog'Maw mid, which I've never seen and isn't played in NA, it's not really considered viable.

Just also want to go and say, with the few games I have played in EUW, I'm loving it. I'm seeing little to no flaming, people actually knowing what they're doing on both teams, so if you f**k up, it's pretty much your fault. Really considering moving my NA account to EUW, because I'm not missing NA one bit.

You realize multiple mid laners ( I believe multiple, I know Bjerg has a few times for sure) have played AP Kog in NALCS. Its a thing in NA lol.

Also keep in mind when you move your account to a different server you will lose your ranks, but apparently your MMR won't change. You'll have to do placements again and theres no guarantee if you started Platinum 3 on NA you'll get back to Platinum 3 on EUW, you could get put in Gold. At least thats how it is if Im understanding correctly.

Well, thanks for the help. But yeah, not really worried about my rank dropping. I'm Silver 5 currently, so I really wouldn't care :P I just have never, ever seen an AP Kog'Maw to be truthful.

It's a bit better than in NA generally. Main difference is (from my experience) that murricanas really like playmaking things and "baylife" and "yolo" swagfights which is not really liked in EU. Eu players are a lot more passive and farm orientated.
