New Player Here......

Hello everyone, I'm fairly new to LoL, and was wondering something.

There are a ton of threads with tips and tricks for new players, does anyone know of one that is condensed, with everything in a single place? (No, not being lazy, just want a quick and easy reference in case I need to look at something - which I might have to a lot)

Or, if you want to share anything with me in-game (tips, game play advice, etc) - feel free to add me.

Always looking for new friends, so even if you just want to chat, that's fine too. A bit nervous of "going out into the wilderness" and playing with something other then bots, so I'm still in practice mode, for the most part, but if you wanna team up and maybe critique my playing, that's welcomed also. :D

Thanks in advance!

Happy Holidays everyone!

I'd say no, you won't find a good crash-course in one place and even tips for new players on YouTube or other websites tend to assume that you already know a lot. Probably the best approach is to play lots of coop vs. AI games and pay close attention to what everyone says. Eventually it starts to come together (I'm still pretty new at this myself).

Here's a good list of game lingo: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/League_of_Legends_terminology

The "meta" basically determines which characters go where and what role they perform in the team. The meta generally reflects whatever professional tournament teams are currently doing and isn't set in stone, but most competitive players will expect you to understand it even if it isn't always followed exactly. This is a pretty good explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFbY3yYZQSo

This is a pretty good video on item building: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufTaJzATTz0

Another good approach to item building is to watch videos of high level players in action and take note of what items they buy for the champions they play. Discussions of champion strategies tend to focus on item builds too, so, just do a lot of research on the specific characters you play.

I have been here for months and still afraid of pvp outside of ARAM. XD I am trying to leave my comfort zone soon though. Try not to do what I did though! If you get to level 30 without doing pvp at all before it gets even scarier.

There are no all-in-one sort of guides or stickies anywhere that I've seen. If you want a great place to start; there's a couple of high-Diamond level players who have covered the basics for everyone - which you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/user/DiamondNBronze/videos Scroll down to the EoD videos, they give amazing insight into how to do the basics of the games and you can really use those tips in every game to turn what you might think is a problematic lane into a totally easy time. Though with everything, it takes practice.

Personal recommendation to further your experience? Find your best playstyle via free to play champs, ask around on the forums for champs that may fit that sort of playstyle. Look into the champs, watch some streams or videos of that champ, look at their kits, identify strengths and weaknesses of them. Early on in your LoL experience, I'd recommend starting in one role and falling in love with one champ. Learn how to play them to the point that you're confident enough to take it into pvp. Branch out slowly from there. For myself, that one champ was Renekton. SoloRenektonOnly is a Diamond renekton main I watched for a while who helped me progress a lot as well.
