Question for other Lux Players

So, I have a question for everyone.

I'm traditionally a Lux main, but in this meta I find situations to play her like I used to dwindling, due to all these champs with high mobility.

Do you think the following build is still viable on lux at all - or would you agree that it would be better to stick with a standard burst AP?

Grail - > Deathcap - > Lichbane -> Zhonya's -> Sorc Boots - > Void Staff or sit item

(I do not like morellos for mana regen, as the passive on grail, while it IS more expensive now is still superior for heavy cost champs like lux ).

Let me know your thoughts on the matter.

imo you should get sorc boots right before or after deathcap, skip lichbane and go zhonyas for defense or just go void staff for dmg

Yeah...Lich Bane isn't really viable on Lux anymore, at least if you don't want to feed the mobile assassins. I stopped building it in Season 3...

I usually go Athene's > Rod/Wand > Sorc Boots > Rabadon's > Void Staff/Zhonya's (depending on enemy team comp) > Morello's > Void Staff/Zhonya's (whichever one I didn't get before). Athene's + Morello's is great, since you get MR + the cost efficiency of Morello's, and it maxes your CDR so you can spam all your spells and practically never run out of mana.

Lich bane isn't that good anymore on Lux in mid/late game. I tend to rush grail and morello both to get 40cdr ASAP and the mana regen is a great plus. This lets you spam your E in lane to push the wave and usually force your lane opponent to go home allowing you to gank early and often. My usual build is Grail - > Morello - > Sorc Shoes - > Rabadon/Zhonya (get both but you may need Zhonya's first in some cases) - >Void Staff/GA Make sure to get t1 boots while building Grail/Morello when you have the extra cash, and don't forget wards/pots. You may want to get Zhonya's before rabadons if they have assassins such as Talon that can blow you up easily, and GA as a 6th item for the same reasons.

I'd say Grail -> Morello -> Sorc Shoes -> Rab/Zhon Just like CapnFalco said. If you play her back line stay safe/farm well, It's really easy to use the 40% CDR you get first to hold towers and win fights. On a champ like lux I feel trading the AP power early and getting the 40% cdr first works well.

I like Frost Chain on Lux. When stacked with her passive, if you're timing your auto-attacks with your skills right to get the maximum damage possible, it's super-effective. The bonus gold and damage against towers are a nice bonus.

Works pretty well for both mid-lane or support Lux, pretty much mandatory for the latter role.

stack 6 mejai's Kappa

But to take your question seriously, either go with the good Capn's Morello + Athene rush in most cases. Alternatively, get one or the other + CDR runes + CDR masteries. Unless you're against a really dive-heavy or assassin-heavy team, you don't need Zhonya's. If I were to build Lux now (I mained her last season, not so much anymore), I'd probably go something like the following:

d-ring > d-ring > codex > boots > morello/grail > grail/morello > cap (see below) > sorc > void/liandry (see below) > zhon/luden's (see below)

You can get cap after your first morello/grail if you want to hit your power spike sooner at the cost of being able to cast fewer spells. If your jg is handing over blues, I recommend cap second. If not, get morello + grail.

If the enemy team is building no MR but they have a lot of HP, liandry's is better. 99% of the time though, go void.

Like I said earlier, Zhonya's isn't necessary if you position well and they don't have an insane amount of dive or point-and-click wreckage. Luden's is just a wee bit of extra damage, but it's useful every now and then.
