I Can't Play Assassins, Help

Hey guys,

so as the headline says, I can't play assassins. I bought Ekko because he looked like one that I finally thought I'd enjoy playing. But then I realized something: I can't play them. I've tired Zed , Katarina , Leblanc , Ahri (when she was super-assassin-y) and all ended with me doing horribly and my team raging at me for intentionally feeding. If you need proof, go look at my last two games as Ekko.

So I'm asking if anyone has any advice for me in general? I'm not asking for specifics because I literally suck at everything. I don't know what to build, I always take more damage than I deal when I harass, I can't kill anyone, ever. My CS normally sucks. I can't even manage to last hit when I play them because I know I'll take damage if I do.

So again, does anyone have any sort of tips they can give someone who literally can't play an assassin to save my life?

just play careful and in lane try to look for good time to go in like if someone wastes spells to wave clear and try to bait spells if you can dodge them

Assassins usually can't win lane against mages. They just have too much ranged power and assassins aren't meant to sit in lane all day, they were meant to strike from the shadows. You can't outfarm a mage under normal circumstances.

When you are an assassin, your priority is roaming. Always keep a lookout for botlane fights and if you move quick enough you can get a double (The famous Katarina Technique), then come to lane and THEN your fed ass can kill that mage easy.

Pretty much what the other guy said. Assassins do a lot of damage so they excel at harass, especially Zed . You gotta try to bait the enemy abilities and act when they are on cooldown (knowing the cooldowns for your enemy helps a great deal). then harass when you can. Melee assassins like Talon do a great amount of damage early on, but assassins are still squishy so its a risky game. Try to establish lane dominance early and use a lot of harass to try and push the enemy out of lane.

As for CS, the way I learned is to focus on the animations of the ally minions, which minion they are attacking, and how many of them are attacking. Getting comfortable with timing your auto attack to land at the last second is really difficult, but with assassins (at least the AD ones) the extra damage makes it a little easier.

Another thing is to play with Quick Cast on if you don't already.

Know your limits, know your enemy, practice timing and prediction. And be confident most importantly, I've seen a lot of people in Bronze or less just run away from a fight they could win, or is useless to run from. If you know you cant escape and you might not win the trade, just stand and fight I guess.

Ask for early ganks if you need to, assassins need that early boost to do anything. An unfed Katarina is so useless mid game lol.
